Tutoring Help for Phys 111
• Listed on course web page
Tutoring through the Physics Department is available
according to the schedule below
TA: Phil Lo, pyl3@njit.edu
FRIDAYS 11:30-2:30pm ROOM 409 Tiernan
MONDAYS 2:30-5:30pm Room 409 Tiernan EXCEPT weeks
that we have common exams. For the weeks that we have
common exams, instead of Monday (when we have the
exam), tutoring will be available the Saturday BEFORE the
exam from noon-3pm, also in Room 409Tiernan.
Common Exam 1
• TODAY’s material WILL BE on the common exam.
How will you spend your Summer?
Consider performing research at a National Science
Foundation (NSF) sponsored Research Experience for
Undergraduates (REU) site.
•
Ask in your department who has NSF funding. The
faculty member can request Summer funds for students
so that you can work at NJIT.
• Go to the national REU site and spend the Summer in
California, Florida, Michigan, Maryland, New Mexico, etc.

Due dates in March. Typically sophomores to juniors
are accepted. Start thinking about your Summer
plans NOW!

I am looking for students with experience with the
RASBERRY PI computer, ANDROID Applications, for a
project to interface 16 different cameras with a
computer or smart phone.
IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE IN these areas, contact me

Iclicker Question #3
which of the following statements is FALSE concerning the projectile
motion illustrated in the figure?
A) At the peak height of the projectile motion, the magnitude of the
velocity is zero
B) At the peak height of the projectile motion, the particle is travelling
parallel to the ground
C) The height of the projectile when it hits the ground is zero.
D) The velocity of the projectile when it hits the ground is the same as
when it is launched.
E) In order to hit a particular range, the required magnitude of launch
velocity and launch angle are not unique.

Federici’s Rule of Physics #2
You can learn proper physics by playing video games or
by watching science fiction movies.
