JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in a field related to Rehabilitation such as Education,
Psychology or Social Work.
EXPERIENCE:
2 years of general management experience required, management experience in a
human services environment preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. A criminal and Motor Vehicle record which meets company standards.
2. A valid Colorado Driver’s license.
3. Verified legal status to work in the United States.
4. Basic computer proficiency (typing, internet, word processing).
5. Professional demeanor excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Strong organizational and time-management skills, and ability to safeguard
confidential information.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Requires concentrated visual and auditory attention; requires frequent standing and
walking; lifting and transferring clients on a as needed basis, carrying, reaching, pushing,
and pulling; ability to work in environments that could include changes in
temperature/humidity, dust, odors, noise, etc.; ability to work with individuals with
cognitive disabilities, a variety of illnesses, and medical conditions; working indoors,
outdoors, and in vehicles; works around and with others, and alone; may have to walk on
slippery and /or uneven walking surfaces; expected to assist individuals receiving
services with entering and exiting the vehicle, toileting, cleaning, bathing, cooking and
other basic life skills.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Supported Employment Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining
community employment opportunities for persons supported by Mountain Valley. Duties
include the development of placement plans, job development and employer contact, and
collaboration with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. This position oversees
staff scheduling and general management, ensures administrative documentation is
completed properly and in a timely manner, and provides guidance and training for staff
members providing vocational services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervision of Staff
1. Provide leadership by demonstrating a strong work ethic, solution oriented
thinking, open mindedness, active listening, good judgment, decisiveness,
accountability and strategic thought.
2. Communicate expectations clearly and maintain a high level of accountability.
3. Train new hires on all job duties and ensure competence.
4. Recognize good performance frequently and specifically.
5. Provide constructive criticism privately and professionally.
6. Address performance issues in a timely and constructive manner and implement
corrective action or recommend termination as necessary.
7. Conduct staff meetings at least monthly; meet with individuals or small-groups as
necessary.
8. Notify Human Resources of staff vacancies. Interview applicants as requested.
9. Complete annual performance evaluations of staff.
10. Responsible for supervising, mentoring and training staff during all work hours.
Administrative Duties
11. Responsible to assure all shifts are covered.
12. Complete all required assessments and reports in a timely manner.
13. Ensure that the program is staffed appropriately to meet individual needs and
budgetary requirements.
14. Provide input to the Finance Office for budget development.
15. Adhere to program budget. Minimize scheduling overtime and utilize resources
efficiently.
16. Verify and approve staff timekeeping records on a regular basis (no less than
weekly).
17. Review and respond to leave requests.
Program Specific Duties
18. Each Manager will be assigned oversight of one or more functional area including
but not limited to day services, residential services, recreation or greenhouse.
Managers are responsible to fulfill duties required for each position not
enumerated in this job description and to maintain the necessary expertise in his
or her functional area.
19. Provide and oversee job development services for individuals seeking
employment. Ensure job development accounts for the individual’s skills,
interests and preferences.
20. Provide and oversee on-going employment supports to individuals currently
working. Ensure these services meet the needs of the individual and the employer.
21. Liaison with the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR),
maintaining regular contact with the DVR Counselors regarding services being
provided.
22. Ensure all services authorized by the DVR counselor are provided in a timely
manner.
23. Review and approve all billing for services provided.
24. Ensure that a Job Development Plan is created that accounts for each individual’s
interests and skills.

25. Ensure that an on-site task analysis of the job being pursued is completed.
26. During On the Job Training, ensure that all training is done using a task analysis
approach.
27. Maintain awareness of employment trends and opportunities in the communities
served.
28. Perform outreach and develop relationships within the business community such
as attending local networking events.
29. Provide job supports such as crisis intervention, employer contacts, retraining,
and problem solving counseling as needed.
30. Conduct and document ongoing assessments of individual job placement and
performance.
31. Assure ongoing employer satisfaction with our clients and job supports
32. Submit SE data and reports to the Division for Developmental Disabilities and
other funding sources as required.
33. Submit monthly reports to the Director of Adult and Employment Services as
requested.

34. Respect each individual’s rights within the program and treat all individuals with
dignity and respect at all times.
35. Report any incidents of suspected rights violations, mistreatment, abuse, neglect
or exploitation immediately according to MVDS policies and procedures.
36. Respect the values, opinions, preferences and choices of individuals.
Person Centered – Focusing on what is important to an individual receiving services
37. Educate and encourage individuals to make informed choices regarding their
lives.
38. Provide opportunities and choices for growth and development based on
individual interests, preferences and input.
39. Ensure access to community resources based on individual interests, preferences
and input.
40. Encourage individuals served to take ownership in maintaining their environment.
41. Provide emotional support, social guidance and positive role modeling.
Safety (Risk Management) – Protecting individuals from harm
42. Assist individuals to maintain a safe and clean environment.
43. Create and maintain program’s chore chart for a list of duties.
44. Provide safe transportation of persons receiving services, drive defensively and
follow traffic laws.
45. Follow safety guidelines including, but not limited to healthy lifting, transferring,
and back care.
46. Identify and solve potential safety hazards, repair or maintenance needs or
immediately report them to the Operations Manager.
47. In case of emergency, follow the emergency plan identified for the facility; notify
appropriate authorities and Mountain Valley staff as soon as possible.
48. Conduct, document and participate in emergency drills as required.
49. Ensure the vehicles are well-maintained and cared for.
50. Interact successfully with people in times of crisis or unpleasant environments.

51. Participate in the development of the Individualized Plan (IP) for each individual
including analyzing progress and developing new goals for the biannual
assessment.
52. Provide services and implement goals in accordance with the Individualized Plan
for each individual supported.
53. Communicate with the Interdisciplinary Team as needs change.
54. Assist individuals with physical and personal care as identified in the
Individualized Plan (IP).
55. Assist non-ambulatory individuals with physical transfer as necessary, including,
but not limited to, pushing wheelchairs, assisting someone in standing from a
seated or laying position and entering and exiting vehicles.
Documentation
56. Review necessary documentation at start of shift and enter necessary
documentation at by the end of shift per MVDS policies and procedures.
57. Respond to correspondence (emails, voicemails, Therap, etc.) in a timely manner.
58. Enter attendance and billing in a timely manner.
Medical Needs
59. Communicate with the Medical Office about observed changes in physical and
emotional needs in a timely manner.
60. Accurately administer medications, document administration and report/document
all medication administration errors, as directed by the Medical Office and
medication administration policies.
61. Follow health protocols and care plans.
62. Ensure documentation of all health information as needed (vitals, seizure reports
etc.).
63. Prepare and serve balanced, healthy meals according to doctor ordered diets.
OTHER REQUIRED DUTIES
Standards of Behavior/Conduct
1. Respond to all requests for information or communication in a timely manner.
2. Follow all policies within the MVDS Employee Handbook.
3. Report all on-the-job injuries to immediate supervisor and Director of Human
Resources within 24 hours of the occurrence and provide a detailed account of the
events leading to the injury.
Attendance and Scheduling
4. Report for work on-time and as scheduled.
5. Enter daily, accurate timekeeping records in timekeeping database.
6. Attend all regular staff meetings and other meetings as requested by supervisory
or administrative staff members.
7. Work schedule as assigned.
8. Have all time-off requests pre-approved.
9. Work at any MVDS facility and be responsible for own transportation to work.
Competencies
10. Complete all mandatory new hire requirements and training as identified by the
State of Colorado and Mountain Valley’s training requirements within 90 days of
hire and maintain courses and certifications as required.

11. Maintain skills with computers, take advantage of new technology, learn new
tools quickly, use technology to enhance job performance and increase
productivity. Maintain current understanding of technical processes/equipment.
Adherence to policies and procedures
12. Adhere to MVDS policies and procedures outlined in the policy manual,
Employee Handbook, and other employee policies.
13. Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure effective
functioning of Mountain Valley’s programming.
