Proyecto de País Hispano: Spanish Speaking Country Project
What is this project about?
Imagine that you and someone you know are going to take a vacation in the country that has been
assigned to you. You decided to put information together about this country in order to prepare
yourselves for your vacation. Therefore, your project is to create a PowerPoint or Google Slides
presentation detailing all of the information you researched for your vacation. The purpose of this
project is for you to learn about the culture of a Hispanic country. Your project will be mostly in English;
however, there is a small section you need to complete in Spanish. It is not required to present this
project to the class. This is an individual assignment. Please do not work in groups or submit a group
project even if you have the same country. Since this is done through PowerPoint or Google Slides,
make sure to use pictures to make your project visually appealing. Please do not use excessive
animations.
This project is 20% of your trimester grade. Your project is due on your assigned Spanish day the
week of November 10th, 2014. Please write the date at the top of this page.
What should I include in my project?
 Basic Information about your country

2. Capital city of country

5. Languages Spoken
6. Religions Practiced
7. Currency
 Cultural Information about country
1. Cultural Activities of country
2. Common Food and Cuisine
 Tourist attractions
o You must pick two different cities that you would like to visit in the country.
 Give an overview of each city with a brief history.
o Select at least 3 tourist attractions you would want to see in each city.
 Examples of tourist attractions – churches, pyramids, parks, rainforests etc.
o Explain the historical background of each tourist attraction you chose and its cultural
importance.

o You need to make a list of helpful words and phrases in Spanish that will be useful to
you and your friend during your vacation. You must have:
 at least 5 words with translations
 at least 10 phrases with translations
 EXTRA CREDIT: There are two options for extra credit. You may only do one option for an extra
5 points.
o Presentation: You can choose to present the project to the class
o Extra credit paper: You can choose to write a one-page double spaced paper explaining
a cultural tradition on your country in detail. You need to write about the historical
background of the tradition.
 Sources
o Make a list of all the sources you used (website address is fine) and add them into your
last slide.
How should I turn in my project?


Electronically --- you can email your project to me at
amy.schroeder@visitationbvmschool.org. If you choose to do this, your project is due
by midnight on your due date. For example, if your due date is November 10th, then
your project should appear in my email inbox with a time stamp of 11:59PM (or sooner)
on November 10th. When I receive your email I will respond with an email
confirmation.
Flash drive – on the day your project is due, you may bring a flash drive into class and I
will transfer your project over to my flash drive.
Please save your file with your full name, and your class number (ex. Holden Caulfied 7B).
If at any point you feel you might not understand how to submit the project, please let me
or Mrs. Dippy know and we can help you.
Since your project can be submitted electronically you will be able to submit it even if you
are not at school. Therefore, if your project is late, you will lose 10 points per day the
project is late.
