1) Hola, soy Carla, y soy una estudiante de bellas artes. Este verano, voy de vacaciones a Costa Rica. Voy a
visitar muchos lugares en San José, la ciudad capital.
2) Quiero ir al Museo de Jade. Alli, puedo ver joyas, esculturas y artefactos prehistóricos, coloniales y
modernos.
3) También, quiero tomar fotos de mi visita, pero desafortunadamente (unfortunately) no puedo tomar fotos en
el museo.
4) Quiero comprar recuerdos para mis amigos y mi familia, pero en el almacén del museo sólo
hay joyas caras y reproducciones que cuestan demasiado dinero.
5) Por fortuna, tienen tarjetas postales de las piezas más bellas. Yo decido comprar noventa
y siete tarjetas postales.
6) Al final las postales sirven de fotos y de recuerdos.

Una Vacación inolvidable – Partner Project
With a partner (assigned by the teacher) you are going to write an original story of at
least 20 sentences about an unforgettable vacation. (***1 sentence = at least 5 words
in Spanish!!)
It does not have to be a true story and it can be crazy, funny, or just interesting – but it
must make sense in Spanish!!
You should write it in the present tense, as was the story that you just read.
You and your partner will work together and each of you will write your own rough
draft copy of the story in your cuadernos. The sentences must be numbered and on
separate lines and you must initial the sentences that YOU wrote in the margin.
PLEASE NOTE – Each partner MUST WRITE AN EQUAL NUMBER OF SENTENCES
(at least 10 each).
Your story must include all of the following (these will constitute part of the grade):
Grammar
1) At least 16 different verbs conjugated correctly in the present tense.
2) 1 use of a direct object pronoun
3) 2 uses of an indirect object pronoun
4) 1 use of a “personal a”
5) 12 words or expressions (used correctly) form your 1.2 (pale pink) packet
6) 5 words or expressions (used correctly) from your 1.1 (bright pink) packet
***These are minimum requirements – you can do more. I recommend that you use all
of your packets so that you have more verbs and vocabulary to work with
Storyline
1) A title in Spanish.
2) A beginning, middle, and end. (in other words, your story must have a conclusion).
3) Something weird, funny, adventurous, or strange that happens on your vacation.
4) At least 3 characters.
After completing your rough draft you should:
1) Check all verb conjugations and spelling of vocabulary (don’t lose points for bad
spelling or verb conjugation). Correct and make changes where necessary.
2) Underline ALL conjugated verbs in red – ALL DOPs in blue – ALL IOPs in green.
3) Re-read to make sure your story makes sense, and count to make sure you have the
correct number of sentences.
