NOTE: This workshop series will be focused predominantly on design, instructional practices, and effective
implementation of instructional technologies. Although no one is expected to know all of the technologies
listed above, a familiarity with many or most will be an advantage. All are encouraged to allocate time to
strengthening technology skills in preparation for the start of the workshop series. Those with less
experience and fewer skills with various technologies should expect to spend additional time honing those
skills in addition to the time allocated to course redesign.
II. FLIPPING YOUR COURSE CONTENT PROPOSAL
Please review the included Proposal Evaluation Rubric on the following page and provide your
responses to the following questions to assist the selection committee in reviewing the proposals.
(Expected length of written portion of proposal: 2 pages.) When completed, please save as a .pdf
for delivering to CTLT either as an email attachment or in a printed packet.
1. Provide the name and expanded description (beyond the catalog text) of the course you are
nominating for the Flipped model. Indicate how many students typically take this course
each year.
2. Describe your experience teaching this course, such as:
A. How many times you have taught this course
B. Your primary teaching methods (e.g., lecture, projects, exams, portfolios, video,
podcasts, labs, etc.)
C. Your expectations for future teaching assignments for this course
3. Please identify a particular module or topic area of this course and explain:
A. Why you think that the module/topic is a good candidate for redesign, including a
rough description of student pass/fail rates or other concerns.
B. Describe problems that a Flipped redesign might help to solve in terms of student
learning and improvement.
C. Identify key factors that will indicate success such as improvement of student
assessment scores, higher participation, retention, and overall success. (This
section is the most significant portion of this proposal.)
4. Briefly describe two technologies you have used in your prior teaching experience that have
