rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
I. Denying them the right to marry is a violation of their civil rights.
-Marriage is a fundamental human right.
-It has become a way in which the state recognizes an emotional commitment between two people for each
other for life.
-If one believes in civil rights under the law, why should it legally be denied because of their personal
preference.
-gays have struggled for decades to get the same rights as heterosexual couples.
-This violates the equal protection of the due process of the 5th amendment, which creates a definition of
marriage for all federal purposes.
-They are denied basic rights such as the right to make medical decisions, if they are arrested, they can be
forced to testify against their partners, in will and testaments, families can challenge a partner on behalf of the
deceased's affairs.

sanctity of marriage.

-There are many ways of having children now, adoption, artificial insemination, etc.
-We are living in a country that has fought for decades to be able to express themselves the way that they want
to. Why should this be any different?
Transition: Homosexuality is becoming widely accepted now in society because it does not hurt people.

-Homosexuality does not encourage others to become gay.
-Teaches acceptance rather than hate.
-Homosexuality has been around since the beginning of time. it has not stopped procreation.
-This is not an effort to let children know that homosexuality is the right way to go.

should be legal.
