Subject: Request for Information (RFI) for a Mainframe Printer (RFI FTB-1314-Mainframe
Printer) Ad#1
The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) is surveying the marketplace for a Mainframe Printer. FTB is
currently performing a Feasibility Study Report (FSR) to replace FTB’s current Mainframe
Triplex Printer, a Canon (previously Océ) PageStream 744 that is end of life. FTB’s
mandatory requirements for a Mainframe Printer are listed in the attached Requirements
Matrix. Also provided is the available floor plan for the new printer. FTB is requesting
information from interested vendors related to an estimate catalog pricing and ability to meet
our mandatory requirements. This document contains information regarding FTB’s needs in
their consideration of replacing our existing Mainframe Triplex Printer.
If you plan on responding to this RFI, please email your contact information and any
questions by 2:00 PM PT on September 19, 2013 so we may provide you any supplemental
information.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ BEFORE RESPONDING TO THIS RFI
1. FTB will not reimburse vendors for any costs associated with responding to this
RFI.
2. FTB has no obligation to buy or issue solicitation to any vendor as a result of this
RFI.
3. Information provided in response to this RFI will not be considered when
evaluating bidders responding to any future procurement.
4. Responses to this RFI will become public record, upon completion of the RFI
process.
5. Information provided in response to this RFI related to any costing should be
estimated catalog pricing, only to be used by FTB for informational and planning
purposes, and understood not to be represented as a bid from the vendor.
6. If this RFI results in a future procurement, vendors will have to agree to the

down in an itemized manner including:
o Hardware
o Software
o Training
o Personal Services, etc
 What level of maintenance do you offer (24x7x365, NBD, etc.) and what are the
associated costs for one, three, and five year terms, paid annually?
 If your company has a Leveraged Procurement Agreement (LPA) through
the Department of General Services (DGS) and this equipment is
available via a DGS LPA, please include the applicable contract
numbers(s).
 Are you a manufacturer or a reseller?
 If you are a manufacturer do you have resellers?
 Can you offer a trade in value for FTB’s current printer?
