ship carrying King
Alonso of Naples, his
son Ferdinand and
other passengers.
Prospero tells Miranda
that he has caused
the shipwreck and
that he used to be
Duke of Milan.
Prospero’s brother
Antonio and the King
of Naples plotted to
overthrow Prospero.
Prospero and Miranda
were put into the sea
in a boat but they did
not drown.
Gonzalo puts food,
water, clothes and
books into the boat for
Prospero and Miranda.
Ariel caused the
storm and Ferdinand,
King Alonso’s son, is
