Math 82 Lesson Plans
Week of 10/25-1029
I can solve a variety of math equations using numbers, decimals and variables as needed.
Students are expected to bring a pencil(s) to class each day. Text, workbooks and a spiral
notebook are stored in the classroom, all though they may take these home as needed.
Monday:
SUB Plans: Students should complete the supplemental work packets left. Then work
any make up or missing work. IF all work is completed they can work on “coloring grids”
Tuesday:
Bell Work: Review classroom expectations
Instructional Input: Students will complete a short decimal activity before proceeding
as a whole group into Transmath Unit 3 Lesson 1. Go through examples on the board and
complete workbook pages as a whole group. Homework will be completed on their own for
Lesson 1 and turned in for a grade. Workbook pages should remain in their books until end of
the week.
Assessment/Evaluation: Collect homework and check for completion and
understanding.
Wednesday:
Bell Work: Workbook page for Lesson 2 Skill maintenance
Instructional Input: Students will work as a whole group to complete the exercise in
Lesson 2 of Transmath Unit 3. Workbook and additional examples will be completed step by
step as a whole group. Students will then complete homework for Lesson 2 on their own.
Assessment/Evaluation: Collect homework and check for completion
Thursday
Bell Work: Decimal packet
Instructional Input: Students will work as a whole group to complete the exercise in
Lesson 3 of Transmath Unit 3. Workbook and additional examples will be completed step by
step as a whole group. Students will then complete homework for Lesson 3 on their own.
Assessment/Evaluation: Collect homework and check for completion

Week of 10/18 – 10/22/10
I can increase my reading fluency as well as my understanding and comprehension of text.
Students are expected to bring a writing utensil to class each day. Text and journals are
stored in the classroom but may be taken home as needed.
Monday:
Sub plans: Students should read and discuss supplemental info on the Great Depression.
They should then read next 2 chapters of Bud not Buddy, if time allows should also then read
Scholastic magazine and complete 5 w’s on 2 articles.
Tuesday:
Bell Work: Quiz Bud not Buddy
Instructional Input: Following quiz students will discuss what took place in the novel the
previous day and being reading next chapter as a group.
Students will go to library for Book fair from 1:40-2:00
Upon returning from book fair students will complete writing excersise – 10 minute
quick write. Once this time is up journals will be collected and checked for completion.
Students will then edit for capitalization and punctuation a given worksheet. This will also take
approximately 15 minutes, if students finish early they should read the books they just
purchased.
Assessment/Evaluation: Collect and check work for understanding and completion.
Wednesday:
Bell Work: Reading comprehension before worksheets
Instructional Input: Once bell work is completed read the “reading passage as a group.
Students should then complete the after you read portion questions. Discuss persuasive
writing. Complete persuasive writing sheets. Advise that we are starting very basic in this
format! They are not “baby” sheets but they are to remind them what we are doing and where
we are going. Give 15 minutes for completion of activity, more if needed. Once writing
exersises are complete read from Buddy, not Buddy. Discuss where we are what has happened
what we read as it is taking place.
Assessment/Evaluation: Collect and check work for understanding and completion
Thursday **Short bell schedule***
Bell Work: Quiz Bud not Buddy
Instructional Input: Journal entry, what would you like to see us read in the future?
Finish reading Bud, not Buddy if needed. Discuss creating options for book reports. Brainstorm
ideas and students should begin by picking out which format they will choose to show their
understanding of the novel
If PAT time has been earned students will be allowed to play “you’ve been sentenced”
and “silent ball”
Assessment/Evaluation: Collect and check for completion and understanding.
