1.

Have Fun!! $20/person

2.

Handicaps will follow more closely to USGA rules.

3.

You can play the ball up, and can move the ball scorecard length no closer to the hole.

You may not improve your lie (i.e. moving the ball from rough to fairway, fairway to fringe, or fringe to green).

4.

Rake & Replace rule is in effect for bunker shots. You may pick your ball up, rake the trap, and then replace the ball in its approximate original position.

5.

Hit when ready!

6.

Lost ball rule: If the ball is hit in a hazard, or can't be found, the player must drop another ball in the approximate position the lost ball was thought to be in. A one-stroke penalty will be assessed for the lost ball.

7.

Provisional Shot: For speed of play, please hit a provisional shot if you think your ball went out of bounds. If your ball is in bounds you can pick up your provisional shot, with no penalty, and play your original ball. The penalty is both stroke and distance, except under the circumstances described in rule 8.

8.

If no provisional shot is played and you realize your ball did go out of bounds, please play your next shot from the approximate spot the ball went out of bounds. A two-stroke penalty will be assessed for the lost ball. For speed of play reasons, do not return to the tee to hit another ball after searching for a lost ball.

9.

Gimme's are allowed! Any putt within 6 inches +/- of the hole may be conceded. This is not mandatory; a gimme putt is at the discretion of your opponent.

10.

Concession of holes is allowed, but it is important to play out every hole regardless of if you have a chance to win it or not. This is important in keeping an accurate and useful average.

11.

Use the white tees.

12.

Four strokes over-par is the maximum score allowed on a given hole. (On a par three, seven is the maximum score. On a par four, eight is the maximum. On a par five, nine is the maximum.) You may pick your ball up and move on to the next hole after the four over-par stroke maximum is reached.

13.

10 rounds of golf is what we are trying to get in by sometime in September/Oct.. Each player is required to play with at least someone out of our league. One final match, season ending Finale, possibly a scramble will be played and winners from the regular season play will be recognized. Pay off 3 spots.

14.

Only 2 minutes are allowed when searching for a lost ball. Keep pace with the group in front of you.

15.

Entry fee is $20. forfeit after first regular season match.

16.

Any discrepancies not covered by league rules will be reviewed by an assigned group.

All decisions made by this panel are final.

17.

To simplify play in the best position league, we will be figuring handicaps for everyone after the first 3 rounds of play. Be patient at first. This way, we can get an accurate handicap for all involved.

18.

The last week for our league will not be scheduled at the beginning of the season. The last week pairings will be determined by your individual play . This will allow for players to be able to better affect their final standings.

19.

After your first 10 rounds of play the worst 2 will be dropped and a new Handicap will be established based on your 8 best rounds. This will give returning league players an established handicap starting the new season. For those still trying to get to 10 rounds,(see rule 17). USGA rules calculator will be used (score-course rating) x 113 divide by slope rating . For example, lets say the score is 85, the course rating is 72.2, the slope 131. (85-72.2) x 113 divide by 131= 11.04 (this is your differential) …note: 113 represents the slope rating of a golf course of average difficulty, as set by the USGA. 8 differentials added up then divided by 8 will give an average, multiply the result by 96%, drop all digits after tenths (no round off) and that is your handicap.

20.

All score cards are to be dropped off at John Gifford’s house or post on the guestbook scores and who you played with and where., he will also be our treasurer and will be an appointed committee member.

Points of interest this year: I would like to establish a 2 man scramble league somehow.

Start it off with just a few rounds of golf. Anyone interested and have any ideas, please comment on Big Sherm’s Guestbook, sounds like fun.
