The Disney company is a multi-billion dollar
American entertainment company that has
made billions off of movies and its theme parks
Disney World and Disney land
These parks have existed since the 1950’s and
because of their massive success the Disney
company is looking to expand its amusement
parks to an Asian country best suited for this
type of entertainment

Climate/Weather- Is there good or bad weather?
Are there a lot of natural disasters?
Culture/Lifestyle- What type of activities do
people do for fun?
how do people spend their money?
Economy- How is the economy
Can people afford to go to the theme park?
Population- Is there room for a theme park?
is the population rural or urban?
Competition- How many major parks are nearby?
Are there any other amusement companies
around?



China has massive overcrowding in cities in
some areas even worse than Japan
There is already a Disney World in China and
many other Amusement parks so competition
could be too much
Even though China is a major trading partner
with America their government is communist
American ideas have affected China but many
people still follow Chinese beliefs and resent
America
Also because China is communist the
government can be oppressive and give people
very little time for fun

already popular
amusement parks



India has massive over population with the
biggest population in the world so over
population is an issue
Most of the cities is plagued with poverty,
disease, and has a lack of education
Many people are not fully excepting of western
ideas and tend to spend their money on basic
needs
There are parts of India with a fairly good
climate but most of India has extreme rain and
natural disasters
Just like Taiwan, a lot of
rainfall in the months where
se should get most of our
customers can pose a huge
problem in our income and
customers.





Taiwan is a very small island much smaller
than Japan with extreme over population
The economy is very bad at 17th in the world
with much poverty and disease
Even though there are not many major theme
parks, only a few people have money for things
like Theme Parks
No real target market
Monsoons, Earthquakes, flooding and
tsunamis could potentially destroy the theme
park
Over crowding in Taiwan
A huge average rainfall in
the time periods where
people want to go to
amusement parks can be a
huge problem for a Disney
in Taiwan.

In fact Japan loves theme parks so much that
they have some of the biggest rides in the
world and a huge target market for a company
like Disney. However we will have to build
away from these parks to insure a good
income.




The climate and weather of Japan in the southern
region is usually warm tropical weather perfect for
a theme park to run all year long
Japan does get some earthquakes and tsunamis but
the government has invested billions in protecting
companies from these destructive forces.
Japan has greatly embraced western ideas and
today even has fairly similar cultural ideas as
America
The Japanese like the idea of amusement parks and
rides and greatly embrace companies like Disney
World

Cultural Consideration
There should not be an extreme amount of cultural shock when
moving to Japan because we live very similar lives. The only real
cultural block would be Japan's vastly different language,
however in todays world their are many people that know both
English and Japanese so communication should not be a major
concern. Another block with setting up a Disney World in Japan
is the fact that the country is thousands of miles away and trade
could be difficult but especially with the internet is not a huge
problem. Overcrowding is another consideration that employees
would have to get used to as even the most crowded and biggest
cities in America do not compare to the population density of
cities like Tokyo. They are so crowded that people ridding the
subway often have to be stuffed into it so everybody can ride! The
hotels are also often so small that they have little more than one
bed! Also the Japanese tend to eat much more seafood than meat
as in America.
