Maldon Shed Project July 2014 Code of Conduct This Code of Conduct has been prepared in order to ensure that participants/attendees in the Maldon Shed Project comply with the following criteria: A. Terms and Conditions of the Planning Consent granted by Maldon District Council regarding the use of the Facilities at Maldon Cemetery. B. Terms and Conditions of the Lease executed between Maldon District Council and the Trustees of Maldon & District Community Voluntary Service. C. Terms and Conditions of the appropriate Health and Safety Regulations as they apply to use of such facilities. Attendance at all or any of the permissible sessions of the Maldon Shed Project will deem acceptance of this Code of Conduct, the specific contents of which is detailed below. The Maldon Shed Project will be run in accordance with the Maldon and District CVS Equal Opportunities policy. Interested parties should apply formally for Membership of the Project by contacting Maldon & District CVS or Emailing theshed@maldoncvs.org.uk The Shed Project will be open at the following times. o Wednesdays, morning session 10.00am until 1.00pm o Wednesdays, afternoon session 1.00pm until 4.00pm o Saturdays, morning session 10.00am until 1.00pm Members will be required to utilise the booking system in order to reserve a place on each or any session. Maldon Shed Project July 2014 Booking allocation will be on a first come basis and will be limited only by the buildings capacity as stipulated by the fire services and as determined by the lease. Bookings can only be made one week in advance. There will be an annual membership cost of £1 an in addition there will be a weekly non refundable charge of £1 per session attended, payable at the time of arrival. Non payment or non attendance will be carried over for no more than one additional session after which time arrears must be paid in full before booking a further session. To avoid this we require 24 hours notice of non attendance. Members are reminded that the project is run at a working cemetery and all are expected to behave in a manner that respects the operation of the cemetery. Power tools may only be used inside the designated Project area within the Shed. Even when inside the Shed, no power tools may be used when o the Chapel is in use o Any memorial service is taking place within the Cemetery Members must observe and respect the “Noise Status” boards on display within the shed. No personal tools are to be brought into the Shed. Alcohol is not permitted anywhere within the cemetery or within the Shed. Any person disregarding this will be asked to leave the session. Maldon Shed Project July 2014 No music is permitted within the Shed. At the end of each session any dust, dirt or waste material shall be collected up for disposal. A Session Manager, appointed by MDCVS, will be in attendance whenever the Project is open. The manager will be responsible for dealing with: o Decisions regarding Noise Status o Liaison with Cemetery staff o Health and Safety, First Aid or similar o Any other issues that may arise Any person causing wilful damage to tools, equipment of project items will be asked to leave the session. Any person engaged in disorderly conduct will be asked to leave the session. Any person failing to carry out any reasonable requests from the Session Manager will be asked to leave the session. Any person appearing to be under the influence of drink or drugs will not be permitted to join the session. Any person using threatening or abusive language will be asked to leave the session. Members attention is drawn to the specific safety and operational rules for the workshop, materials and equipment, especially power tools, that are displayed on Notice Boards within the Project Area. This Code of Conduct will be reviewed by the Steering Group on an annual basis or as required.
