Your centre – Le Château de Chantereine
Set in the picturesque fishing village of Criel-Sur-Mer, the beautiful
17th century Normandy Château de Chantereine provides a fantastic
opportunity for young people to fully immerse themselves in the
French language and culture

• Located just across the Channel and only a short drive
from Calais, the Château is the perfect base from which
to explore the many historic sites and rich cultural
attractions found in Normandy’s Alabaster coast region.
• A range of adventure activities available on site,
including archery, fencing and climbing to increase selfconfidence and promote leadership skills.
• Comfortable single sex dorms sleep 2-6 young people.

Food glorious food!
All our meals are created with health and nutrition in mind - the food
is French and provides students with a fantastic opportunity to try
new things, and yes, even frog legs and snails!
We serve a healthy continental breakfast each morning and a large, balanced packed lunch is provided for excursions.
Dinner is a four course sit-down meal each evening in our communal dining area – the food is French and vegetarian
selections are available.
Plenty of juice and water is available at all times.
Most dietary requirements can be catered for as long as we are told in advance - forms will be issued to the group prior to
your visit for this purpose and to establish any medical needs.
Bedtime routine
To finish off each day, hot chocolate is served before students return
to their dorms. Plenty of sleep is required to recharge the batteries,
so lights are usually turned out by 10:15pm.

Our Château guides are trained to offer a truly enriching and
immersive experience, making sure each student is engaged and
getting the most out of every trip
Safety & Wellbeing
We know how nerve-wracking it can be letting your child go on a
residential visit, so we do everything we can to make it a safe and
enjoyable experience for all.
Our policies and procedures are designed to make sure
we adhere to the highest safety standards at all times:
• Continual safety and first aid training for all staff
• Regular checks on equipment before and after every
activity session
• Qualified First-Aider and Duty Manager are on call 24/7
• Boundary fencing and coded entry mean the Chateau
provides a safe and fully secure environment.
All Kingswood staff are fully DBS checked and are trained
to take responsibility for the well-being of the children in
their care.
We create a warm, supportive environment for students so
they quickly feel at home and our activities are progressive,
allowing students to join in at whatever level they’re
comfortable with.
