Despite the higher output, exports in the new season that began on 1 October are pegged lower at 9 million bales, compared with last year of 11.8 million bales on subdued demand seen from top buyer China. India is the world second-biggest exporter of the fiber. ============================================================================================= 15 Oct. 2014 Indian Fresh ginger new crop has been start. ============================================================================================= 15 Oct 2014 Groundnut Output In Gujarat May Decline By 44 Percent Groundnut production in Gujarat is likely to decline by 44% to 14.3 lakh tons this year against 25.9 lakh tons last year according to the survey conducted by SEA. The Solvent Extractor Association of India (SEA) said that kharif groundnut sowing in Gujarat which produces over 50% of the total output has dropped by about 26 % and the yield is likely to decline by 25 % compared with last year. Groundnut acreage in the State has declined from 16.6 lakh hectares last year to 12.2 lakh hectares this year. Farmers have shifted to other crops due to delayed Manson. Soybean meal exports greatly reduced in last 6 months due to lower-than-expected crop, resulting into high cost of soybean in local market. For the 1st time in last 6 months, oilmeal exports fell below 1,00,000 tons mark. According to SEA, total oilmeal exports in September, soyabean meal comprised of 868 tons, Rapeseed meal (58,567 tons), rice bran extraction (1,500 tons) and Castorseed meal was 21,814 tons. In the 1st 6 months of the current fiscal, overall oilmeal exports dropped by 43% at 9,50,599 tons compared to 16,57,697 tons in the same period. ============================================================================================= 27 Jan 2014 Spice Export Increased By 28 Percent During April-Nov. Spices exports from India have increase by 28% in terms of volume and 46% in terms of value in Rupees and 32% in terms of value in Dollars, during April-Nov 2013 period of the current financial year, compared to April- Nov 2012. Export figure reaching Rs 8,377.20 crore [US $ 1,396.51 million] in value and 508,555 tons of volume during AprilNovember 2013 against 398,000 tons, value at Rs 5,732.25 crore ($1,055.82 million) last year. Cumin export, with an export of 86,500 tons for Rs 1,150.56 crore over last year (April- November) export of 44,436 tones for Rs 604.16 crore with an increase of 95% and 90% in terms of volume and value respectively. Turmeric export has increased by 41% in value with volume of 50,500 tons. During April- November 2013 the exports of turmeric was valued at Rs. 408.28 crores. Pepper export has increase by 42% in value with volume of 13,700 tons. During April- November 2013 the exports of Pepper was valued at Rs. 572.26 crores. Coriander with 29,800 MT a rise of 47% in volume and Rs 235.57 crore, increase 119 % in value. During the corresponding previous year, it was Rs. 107.65 crore only in export.
