Mole Day Projects Projects will count as a summative/test grade for this six weeks! 1. Write a song/rap about a scientist or the mole concept. The song can be recorded to the music you desire or the lyrics may be typed out. Please include the original song that you’re using for this project or make your own. You can use the music from a song, but please use your own lyrics. Must be at least 40 lines long, not including any repeating choruses. This is an individual project. It may be a 2 person group project only if it is recorded to music and a video is taken performing the song or it is performed in class. 2. Write a poem about your favorite scientist or mole concept. Poems must be 40 lines in length. The poem must be original and must be typed out. This is an individual project. 3. Make a movie about your favorite scientist or about the mole concept using the iMovie app. You may make a spoof (making fun of another movie, commercial, etc. using your own scientist) or it may be informational. Movies must be between 5-10 minutes and must be shown in class. This may be a 2 person group project. 4. Write a biography on the life and history of your favorite scientist. This must be at least a 2 page typed paper. It is an individual project. 5. Make a Mole Day Poster or Poster of your favorite scientist. This must have a lot of information on it, including graphics, pictures, what the mole represents and means, what day we celebrate Mole Day and why, etc. Do not skimp on this project. It will also be graded on neatness, creativity, and overall appeal. It is an individual project. 6. Make a Mole Day themed stuffed mole animal, filled with 602 dry beans. (I have a pattern available for you to use to cut out the fabric and sew together). You must also turn in a paper including the mole’s name, the theme of your mole, explanation of a mole in chemistry, explanation of why you used 602 beans in the mole, and how many grams your “mole” is equal to. This is an individual project.
