Tips for High School Students
• Take chemistry, biology, and mathematics courses
• Take Algebra as dual credit, AP credit, or as college credit before
arriving at UNT
• Earn AP credit and/or dual credit
• Get a solid foundation in English composition or technical writing
• Take Spanish or other foreign languages
• Ongoing volunteer & community service
• Participate in Health Tech programs
• Participate in HOSA activities
• Participate in summer programs

Qualifications for JAMP
In High School
• Apply to a college or university
• Take the SAT or ACT – must score no less than the
mean for the state of Texas:
• SAT in 2013: 1437
• ACT in 2013: 20.9
• Apply for Financial Aid through the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• Must qualify for a Pell Grants or
• Have an Estimate Family Contribution (EFC) rating of
$8000.00 or less
