Course Description and Objectives: This is an introductory course to micro and macro economics to study topics of choice and scarcity, markets, demand and supply, competition, production, output, income and growth and fiscal and monetary policy. Objective is to understand economics as defined in both theory and in real world situations as well as to understand the value and meaning of published economic indices. In class discussion, quizzes and assignments will be used to assess and improve understanding of subject matter.
Prerequisite: MA085-II, proficient use of internet and office computer programs.

Current Events and Assignments: Supplemental reading and chapter assignments given routinely.
Reaction papers required.
