Class Expectations • Be prepared. • Be courteous and respectful. • Follow class rules and school policies at all times. • Be open minded. EVERYONE can do math! 2. Grading Policy • Grades will be calculated by the total points methods. The grade will be determined by diving the number of points achieved by the number of points available. Grades are based on the following: • Tests: (100 points each) Tests will be given at the end of each chapter or unit of study. Tests will always be announced in advanced so that students will have time to prepare for them. • Quizzes / Classwork: (20-50 points each) Quizzes and classwork will cover current topics to assess understanding of the material. • Homework: (2 points each) Homework is intended to help you practice new skills that build upon each other. Homework is given almost daily and is vital to your success in this class. Homework is due at the beginning of each class and will be checked daily. Homework is to be done in PENCIL ONLY and ALL work needs to be shown in order to receive the full credit. Homework is accepted late, but with a significant point reduction. Homework is posted on my website. • Projects: (20-100 points each) Projects will be completed at home, as well as, in school. Grading specifics for each project will be discussed at the time the project is assigned. 3.
