The first montage shows him at home on his blackberry sending a friend request to Sewa on facebook. The second montage shows him sending a text to Sewa saying ‘how are you doing Sewa’.He is just coming from the lecture hall. The third montage shows Sewa with Priscilla and Kemi in conversation when she gets the text but she ignores the text and continues talking. The fourth montage shows him checking his facebook account on his blackberry at home but he’s disappointed when there’s no response. The fifth montage shows him at school sending a text saying ‘I hope you are doing well’ to Sewa who is some meters away from him but she looks at the phone and ignores it. The disappointment is plain on his face. The sixth montage shows Sewa in class receiving a text. Richard is at the window outside her class watching her reactions (She disregards it) but is disappointed again. These four shots are interspersed with her present state where everthing turned out differently. She gets up and looks at her wedding picture with Damola. She jumps on her father and starts hitting her. In an angry rage her father hits her and pushes her away. Omotilewa’s screams pierce the air making her fighting parents to stop. CAMERA reveals Omotilewa getting up from the chair where the knife Sewa was previously holding landed. Omotilewa has being injured by the knife and there is blood all over her. The parents are alarmed and frantically try to rescue Omotilewa who’s getting weak. Damola gets his car keys while Sewa is holding Omotilewa, screaming and weeping. HOSPITAL – DAY Olatilewa is wheeled by two nurses on a guerney into the hospital with her frantic parents following frantically behind. As Omotilewa is wheeled into a room, some nurses stop Damola and Sewa from following her and direct them to the waiting room. They both sit down apart from each other and steal glances at themselves. SC 60 INT. DOCTOR’S OFFICE – MOMENTS LATER Damola and Sewa are before the doctor in his office. DOCTOR Your daughter is in intensive care as she’s in a coma. She was badly injured as we detected internal bleeding apart from the external one which means that there’s a chance that a vital organ might have been pierced. We’ve had to stabilise her but the prognosis for her doesn’t look good. The injuries were really bad but we are trying our best to see that she recovers. We are not promising anything because the situation is dicey and can go either way. SEWA Is there anything else that can be done to save Omotilewa? DOCTOR I hope you can pray because that is the only thing I can recommend. Damola and Sewa look at themselves having being shocked by the doctor’s information. The first one shows her sitting by Omotilewa’s side. The second one shows her at the bedside adjusting her daughter’s head on the pillow. The third one shows her reading to Omotilewa from a story book. The fourth montage shows her praying while holding Omotilewa’s hand. The last montage shows her looking intensly at her daughter, kissing her and going out of the room. She is in different clothes to signify different days. SC 62 INT. HOSPITAL WAITINGROOM– DAY Sewa is in the waiting room when Priscilla comes over. PRISCILLA Sewa! Sewa looks up and sees her friend. She stands up as Priscilla come and hugs her. The ladies attempt to follow Doctor Greg but an orderly stops them. ORDERLY Sorry madam you can’t go in. SEWA (FRANTIC) But that’s my daughter’s room they are talking about. What is going on? DAMOLA’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM - DAY Camera is on Damola who is devastated by his daughter’s death. He sits on the settee starring into space as his mind launches into memories of how he illtreated his family. Damola goes tentatively to the dining table as Sewa starts eating her breakfast. Sewa stares at him blankly and Damola feels uncomfortable at her stare. He picks at his food and hesistates in taking a bite. Sewa still stares at him. He can’t bring himself to eat as there’s fear on his face. He stands up. DAMOLA(LYING) Em dear, mo ni appetite. She suddenly starts coughing and runs past Damola on her way to the bedroom. She takes some drugs. Second montage shows her sitting on the settee with her hair thining out and skin rashes. Damola looks at his wife on his way to work and looks sad. The next four montages show her deteriorating state as she is in bed over the next few months. The hair thins out and her skin rashes grow worse. SC 68 INT. DAMOLA’S HOUSE – BEDROOM – NIGHT Damola seeing the depreciating state of Sewa feels more remorseful than ever. The first one sees the cooker being lit. The secondsees fridge being opened and egg taken out.The third sees the egg being broken. The fourth sees tomato and onions being chopped by a knife. The fifth sees the egg, tomato and onions being poured into a frying pan with hot oil. The sixth sees a mug being taken off the shelf. The seventh sees cocoa or coffee being put in the cup. The eight see hot water being poured into the cup. The ninth sees egg being ladled into a plate. The tenth sees bread slices put in a plate. CAMERA now reveals Damola mixing the coffee or cocoa. He is in a happy mood as hesets the breakfast in a tray, lifts it and heads off shot towards the bedroom. SC 70 INT. DAMOLA’S HOUSE – BEDROOM – MOMENTS LATER The door to the bedroom opens and Damola comes in with the tray of food. He smiles as he places the tray on a small table. DAMOLA Ewa mi… ounje ti ready. SC 71 INT. DAMOLA’S HOUSE – BEDROOM – HOURS LATER Damola looks on as his wife’s body is wrapped up in a body bag and taken away by medical attendants. Damola is distraught and has tears in his eyes as he looks around his home swarming with medical personnel. A man comes to him. MAN Sir will you sign this form? Damola doesn’t hear as he’s lost in thought. The man taps him bringing back to awareness. The man holds out the form.
