Microsoft is building a 707,000 square foot data center in Northlake, IL to support its cloud computing initiative called Azure. Current speculation is that cloud computing will explode in Chicago as it is the hub of fiber optic cable Current Intuit® Products and Services Accounting Online (SaaS) Simple Start QuickBooks® Accounting – Pro, Premier, Mac Enterprise Solutions – 5-30 Users Point of Sale – Cash Register Plus, Basic, Pro, Multistore Point of Sale – Hardware – Peripherals and Bundles QuickBase (SaaS) Payroll – Basic, Enhanced, Assisted Merchant Services Checks, Forms and Supplies Popular Third Party Add-ons Field Service Management ES (SaaS)– robust service management Warehouse Management ES (SaaS) – robust warehouse management Fishbowl Inventory – robust inventory control MiSys – manufacturing and floor shop management Method (SaaS) – suite includes customizable interface using real time QuickBooks® data, CRM and more Autofy – data synchronization between QB and other software Qvinci – basic visual dashboards using QB and Excel Results CRM – Customer Relationship Management Bill.com – web-based accounts payable processing AccuPOS – POS for restaurants Right Networks – hosted applications – QB, Office, etc. Bill Quick – time, billing, project management, quoting Acctivate – comprehensive distribution and wholesale management SourceLink- link scanned documents to QB transactions QODBC – allows access to QuickBooks® data and customizable reports via MS Access or Crystal Reports Transaction Pro Importer – simple data transfer from Excel to QB Business Intelligence Concepts Business Intelligence (BI) Encompasses many different concepts and technologies to better understand an organization. BI goal is to gather, store, analyze and share data in order to help make better business decisions. BI Stack The business intelligence (BI) stack refers to a broad group of technologies designed to work together to produce BI solutions. The stack often includes three layers as shown: Presentation Analytics Database Producing dashboards, scorecards, reports, etc. Predictive analysis, data mining and KPI formulation Examples are Oracle, SQL, MS Access Business Intelligence Tools: Dashboard The dashboard is a display tool for users to get a visual of performance indicators and any other relevant information There are many different types of dashboards with different goals (operational, tactical, strategic), but ultimately they provide information at a glance. QuickBooks® provides dashboards, but they are not robust. Intuit® started with Business Analysis ES in 2009 but abandoned that initiative. There is an opportunity for us to create industry customized dashboards, scorecards, and alerts.
