10. Aims

This course aims to introduce the basic concepts of e-Commerce.

Different topics will be covered including: introduction to ecommerce; B2B e-commerce, B2C e-commerce, e-payment systems, mobile commerce, modern trends in developing e-commerce systems, e-commerce and supply chain management. Students will carry out small projects to utilize the concepts of e-Commerce. The students will be able to use specific tools that help in designing e-Commerce projects

 Explain business technologies, standards and processes involved in implementing e-commerce

 Comprehend different e-Commerce systems.

Weekly lectures

The class is held in 110-minutes lecture sessions per week. In addition, there is a 110-minutes Lab section each week

(Lectures: Sunday 10 to 12 pm in CF 14 and Lab Wednesday 10 to 12 pm in BF

Assessment scheme:

Written examinations : 1 hour in first exam (15%) due in week number 07, 1 hour in second exam (15%) due in week number 13 and 2 hours in final exam

(40%) due in week number 16 .

Assignments: Students will be assigned different homeworks and will be assessed based on correctness and meeting deadlines. (Account for 20%)

Final project: building an E-commerce website (Accouts for 10%)
