In this manuscript, we are reporting the efficacy and limitations of endovascular treatment with stents and/or detachable coils for intracranial vertebral artery dissections. Occlusion of the dissection site or proximal occlusion with detachable coils is the current method of choice to prevent subsequent rupture in the acute stage. The use of stents with or without detachable coils in the treatment for the ruptured dissecting pseudoaneurysms seems to be fascinating, however, it may not be sufficient therapy in the acute stage. These methods are useful in treating the unruptured dissecting aneurysms and ruptured dissecting aneurysms in the subacute or chronic stage after the wall of the lesion becomes stable. Due to these reasons, we hope that our manuscript to be carefully read and found suitable for publication in American Journal of Neuroradiology.
