a. ASTM Term “Filler”
Person, or service, who produces the observations (fills the order)
requested by the requestor.
ASTM refer to a producer - the fill can originate requests for services (new
orders), and additional services to existing orders, replace existing orders,
narratives
put an order on hold, discontinue an order, release a held order, or cancel
existing orders.

c. Term: Remote Procedure Call
Definition: A call to a routine that results in code being executed on a
different system from the one where the request originated. An RPC
system allows calling procedures and called procedures to execute on
different systems without the programmer needing to explicitly code for

d. Term: Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is the language
governing communications between all computers on the Internet.
TCP/IP is a set of instructions that dictates how packets of information are
sent across multiple networks. It also includes a built-in error-checking
capability to ensure that data packets arrive at their final destination in
the proper order.
A reliable connection-oriented protocol originated by DARPA for
internetworking, encompassing both network and transport level
protocols. While the terms TCP and IP specify two protocols, TCP/IP is
often used to refer to the entire DoD protocol suite based upon these,
including Telnet, FTP, UDP, and RDP.
