Great Expectations
Final Project – Group “Mosaic”
You are going to create a poster in your group that will be a “mosaic” of Great Expectations.
While you’ll certainly have writing, the idea of a mosaic implies that it will be visual (made
up of pictures). I’d like it to be about 50% words and 50% pictures. (for visuals, you
should combine some drawing/coloring with magazine cutouts).
Bring Magazines!  (Sports, fashion, whatever as long as it’s appropriate)
Be Creative! 
My plan is to build your test from your posters, so show some effort. Find good quotes
representing theme and motifs and I’ll use them on the test, so that you’re not surprised .

3-4 Main Characters: describe major traits, w/ visual representations (10 points)
2 Motifs w/ visual representation and explanation of meaning (include a short
quote, a line or two is ok). (10 points)
A visual representation of one of the settings (I might assign a specific one to
each group TBD) (10 points)
5 vocab words from Great Expectations with synonyms (10 points)
1 THEME – (20 points)
o Write a theme statement that explains one of the main ideas of the book.

Group Grade: The poster is 70. A group presentation is 30 (each person needs to explain
one of the parts of the poster).
