Come up with a number of vision statements/ideas that the community can do for the next five years. i. Normally based on populations b. How much synergy between CISD and Coppell Library? i. Do have a lot; Presentations from Librarians to children. ii. Is the school spending money of libraries of each school and are they getting the optimum usage? (Generally only 30minutes of library time for elementary children) iii. Can the schools/ISD channel their money to the public library instead? iv. Would it be a field trip? Some kids would never get to go to the library due to their parents. c. Texas State Library i. Tex Share databases; K-12 databases – state keeps trying to fund it, but it gets cut. d. Blue Bonnet Collection i. Library purchase a lot of their books and then donates the rest/extra to the school. e. Accelerated Reader i. Can we collaborate it with the Library? 1. Not all schools participate with AR. 2. Library does have the lists of books from the schools that are used for AR f. Cypress Waters i. Does not have a library ii. Coppell instituted a non-residency for library cards iii. Located in CISD, but is in Dallas City Limits. g. Fees i. $40.00 for non residents ii. Less than 200 people that are non residents in the library h. Performing Arts i. Speech and Debate: reciting poems/prose ii. Coppell Theatre, High School Theatre 2.
