HMS 8th Grade Registration Timeline: 2012-2013
• February 6th: 8th Grade Orientation Program for
students and their parents at HHS –6:30 p.m.
•February 7th: 8th Grade Math Teachers will distribute
registration materials to all 8th grade students (to be
completed with the students’ parents)
•February 13th (Monday): All 8th grade students must
turn in completed registration forms to their math
teachers by February 13th.
•February 14-17: Middle school registration will be
entered into the computer
•March-April: The master schedule will be completed.
•May-June (tentative): Schedules will mailed home.

STUDENTS INVOLVED IN EACH MUSIC ORGANIZATION – USE THE FORM THAT MATCHES YOUR MUSIC

2. TALK TO YOUR MATH TEACHER AND SELECT THE APPROPRIATE MATH CLASS
3. FILL IN ANY REMAINING PERIODS ON YOUR SCHEDULE WITH ELECTIVE COURSES
4. CHOOSE ALTERNATE COURSES (alternate courses must equal 2 credits)

The following are legitimate reasons for class changes IF class size
allows it:
*To meet graduation requirements
*To repeat a course that you failed
*If you did not meet prerequisite for course
*To improve the rigor of your course selection
*To balance academic course load
*If there was a computer error in your schedule
*To make adjustments for Youth Options or special program
*If there is a lack of foundational skills for the course (need
teacher signature)
Schedule changes will NOT be made for lunch changes, to be with
friends, to switch hours, and/or to switch teachers
Students who request a change, will need to fill out a Schedule
Change form (available in the Guidance Office) & return the form
with a parent signature.

Academic Resource Initiative




Homeroom Resource Schedule-Weekly for 40 minutes
Teachers refer students weekly to receive extra
assistance during homeroom
Students will be given a resource pass from referring
teacher
Students can be referred for:
– Receiving a grade of 73% or lower in a class
– Missing work, quizzes, or tests (or re-doing them)
– Brush up on skills
– Enrichment
