MONDAY: Chrome book day;
MATH: Review
Daily Spiral Review; TW review equivalent, simplifying, adding and subtracting
like denominators, improper, and mixed number fractions. SW review fractions
learned so far and ask questions about any misunderstandings or struggles. TW
review how to find the least common multiple to help add with unlike
denominators.
TW use NBT1-7 review packet to prep for district assessment.
CHROME BOOKS: SW use Sheppard’s Software to review fraction skills and
complete a lesson on Moby Max.

DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION:
BGL: TW work with students as needed.
AGL: SW work independently at their own pace
SCIENCE: Begin reading around the world Chapter 5 Lesson 1. (Minerals and
Rocks). Discuss the rock cycle p. 233 and video. Students will discuss as we
read and afterwards define the vocabulary for the lesson. Students will be
encouraged to bring in rocks this week to analyze for particular characteristics.
TUESDAY:
MATH: Review; Adding and subtracting unlike denominators.
Daily Spiral Review; TW review adding fractions with unlike denominators. TW
introduce how to subtract fractions with unlike denominators. SW practice adding
and subtracting with unlike denominators. SW share what they have learned
today.
SW continue review packet for District Assessment

DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION:
BGL- Teacher will work with students as needed
AGL- Students work independently at their own pace
SCIENCE: Continue reading chapter 5 lesson 1. Discuss rock properties and
complete reading. Connection studies of volcanism in chapter 4 to the types of
rocks presented in chapter 5. Comprehension questions.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Weekly Reader. Read around the world and discuss.
WEDNESDAY:
MATH: Review; Adding and Subtracting with mixed numbers
Daily Spiral Review; TW continue study of adding and subtracting fractions with
unlike denominators. TW introduce/review using a mixed number to add and
subtract with unlike denominators.
SW with a partner to complete some of the NBT review packet.
RESOURCES/MATERIALS: Textbook; Envision 10-5/10-6

AGL: Students will work at their own pace
SCIENCE: Read around the world chapter 5 lesson 2. Soil. Discuss soil as a
necessary commodity to nourish and care for. Discuss the soil map from page
244 and show a video (discovery channel) on how soil is made over video
discussion.
THURSDAY:
MATH: Review
Daily Spiral Review; TW review adding and subtracting with unlike denominators
and simplifying sums or differences. SW play a review game to prepare them for
the quiz tomorrow. SW continue working on the NBT review packet.
