The HMT Green Hatter was a program that grew from the need of having someone on each site that was willing to spend time every day focused specifically on the safety at each site. We identified an employee on each crew that held safety a value and promoted safety through their actions each day. That person was identified as the Green Hatter for that crew. Global AST Solutions Provider Since 1978 8 NEW TANK • REPAIR • PRODUCTS • INSPECTION • COATING HMT Green Hatter Program • The expectation of the Green Hatters is to identify hazards or at-risk behaviors, bringing them to the attention of the foreman and fellow employees so that the hazard or behavior can be eliminated. • Green Hatters should be prepared to be part of the solution for at-risk issues they discover. For example, the observer can and should fix a barricade or perform housekeeping activities as necessary.
