Workplace
and

Right to Know Act

1:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Bullying is no longer just a childlike
playground concern. It is a problem that has
spread in mass proportions to teens and
adults in serious ways. Not surprising,
bullying has become an issue that is plaguing
public and private employers in workplaces
throughout the U.S. regardless of their size.
Workplace bullies can negatively impact
employee morale and undermine
productivity, not to mention creating
dissonance among the workers. Victims of
bullying are often too embarrassed or
intimidated to report it, leaving employers
frequently unaware of the problem, or if
aware, ill-equipped to address it. Elizabeth
Peters from the Masud Labor Law Group will
provide an insightful presentation on how to
recognize and deal with a bully in your
workplace, what actions employers should
take to effectively confront the issue, and
how to create a positive and productive work
environment for your company or
organization. She will also discuss employee
personnel files, including what should and
should not be included, and some of the
"intricacies" of the Bullard-Plawecki
Employee Right to Know Act. Whether you
are a new or experienced business owner or
HR or other manager you will not want to
Saginaw Northwest Kiwanis, and the Saginaw Bay Yacht
Club. She is admitted to practice in all state and federal
courts in Michigan and Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court
for the Western District of Texas, and is admitted to various
other federal courts, including the Third, Fourth, Seventh,
Eighth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal.

administration. After graduating from law school, Elizabeth
began her labor and employment career with Masud and
Associates, where she remained until she became in-house
counsel for labor and employment litigation at U.S. Steel in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
As in-house counsel, Elizabeth litigated numerous
employment cases across the country. During her 10 years
at U.S. Steel, Elizabeth also served as a U.S. Steel

resolved and litigated hundreds of grievance disputes and
participated in the bargaining of two national collective
bargaining agreements. She also gained invaluable frontline practical experience serving as an Employee Relations
Manager for two steel producing plants and two coke works
operations.
Elizabeth assists clients in all areas of labor and employment
