Peters, BS, MA, JD ______________________ Bullying In The Workplace and Bullard-Plawecki Employee Right to Know Act _____________________ September 14, 2011 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. Bullying is no longer just a childlike playground concern. It is a problem that has spread in mass proportions to teens and adults in serious ways. Not surprising, bullying has become an issue that is plaguing public and private employers in workplaces throughout the U.S. regardless of their size. Workplace bullies can negatively impact employee morale and undermine productivity, not to mention creating dissonance among the workers. Victims of bullying are often too embarrassed or intimidated to report it, leaving employers frequently unaware of the problem, or if aware, ill-equipped to address it. Elizabeth Peters from the Masud Labor Law Group will provide an insightful presentation on how to recognize and deal with a bully in your workplace, what actions employers should take to effectively confront the issue, and how to create a positive and productive work environment for your company or organization. She will also discuss employee personnel files, including what should and should not be included, and some of the "intricacies" of the Bullard-Plawecki Employee Right to Know Act. Whether you are a new or experienced business owner or HR or other manager you will not want to Saginaw Northwest Kiwanis, and the Saginaw Bay Yacht Club.
