Central Place Theory- Expansion Team Project
You are the commissioner of the one of the major professional leagues and you want to open 4-8 new franchises in the U.S. (not Canada). First, you must do some research to determine the best locations for your teams then you will create a name and logo for each new team. You can choose from MLS, MLB, NFL, NBA or WNBA

Using your text and computer sources, please research and analyze current urbanmetropolitan population figures. Based on your research, determine the best possible locations for your 4-8 new teams. You will need to cite your sources!

You will need to prioritize your locations- the best location will be 1 st

After you choose your new locations, you will need to assign nicknames and sketch logos for 4 teams. These nicknames/logos must relate to the culture/natural resources/physical features of the area! Try to use computer.

You must assign your new teams into the current franchises. 1 new team per conference.

You will turn in 1 answer packet per group as well as the 4 sketches of the logos.

You will be graded on the following criteria: a.
Selection of appropriate sites. b.
3 good reasons for choosing the cities- with support from research. c.
Creativity of logos and nicknames. d.
Geographic conference locations. e.
Neatness and readable presentation of your project
10. In the written paper, 1.5 to 2 pages typed, discuss the different units, themes, vocabulary, theories that can and were applied to your decision process. Be specific with your data as you write. Each person must do the written section.
