Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash has been a recording star since 1955. He has recorded nearly 1500
songs on over 470 albums. His most famous albums were “Folsom Prison”, “San
Quentin” and “Greatest Hits”. With over 2 million sales these albums, they became
multi-platinum records.

Jerry Lee Lewis
Jerry Lee Lewis, the first performer inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,
has been a rock legend since 1956. He was most famous for his hit single “Great
Balls of Fire”. With that song, and a couple others he soled more albums then Elvis
Presley that year.

Nat King Cole
By the 1950s, Nat King Cole emerged as a popular solo performer. He scored
numerous hits, with such songs as "Nature Boy," "Mona Lisa," "Too Young, " and
"Unforgettable.” Cole made television history in 1956 when he became the first
African-American to host his own national program.

Elvis Presley (The King of Rock)
In 1954, Elvis began his singing career with the legendary Sun Records label. It is
estimated that Presley has sold over one billion record units worldwide. Elvis has
had no less than 149 songs to appear on Billboard’s Hot 100 Pop Chart in America.

Marilyn Monroe
In 1953, Monroe made a star-making turn in Niagara, starring as a young married woman out to
kill her husband with help from her lover. She then played in the dramatic comedy Bus Stop,
playing a saloon singer being kidnapped by a rancher who has fallen in love with her. During her
career, her films entertained more than $200 million. She still remains popular today as an icon of
sex appeal and beauty.

Lucille Ball
Lucille Ball was an instant star when she appeared on the comedy “I Love Lucy”. On
October 15, 1951 “I Love Lucy” made its debut and to the television viewing audience
across the country. For four of its seasons, the sitcom was the number one show in
the country.

Roy Rogers
Roy Rogers was the iconic cowboy actor of the 1950’s. Although he was an actor in
many films, he was also a singer and song writer. In the Motion Picture Herald Top Ten
Money-Making Western Stars poll, Rogers was listed for 15 consecutive years from
1939 to 1954, holding first place from 1943 to 1954.

Doris Day
As a freelance actress, Doris Day’s range of roles increased. She made the bio-pic Love Me Or
Leave Me, based on the life of ‘20s singer Ruth Etting, in 1955. Doris returned to Warner Brothers
for the film version of Broadway hit The Pajama Game in 1957. Then, in 1959, Doris paired with
Rock Hudson in Pillow Talk for Universal. Her acting career ended in 1969.
