Communication Workshops We can’t really know anything we can’t communicate. Wittgenstein Irish Board of Speech and Drama www.irishboard.ie Jill Anderson School of Speech and Drama www.speechdramadublin.com The Importance of Communication Skills • From our school days all through college knowledge and communication are treated separately. • In order to be successful in a chosen career being able to communicate effectivetly to a group of people large or small is vital. • For example, Faraday not only discovered many of the basic principles of Electricity but was a great communicator. According to Nacy Forbes and Basil Mahon “His scientific genius lay not simply in producing experimental results that had eluded everyone else but in explaining them too.” • Without this skill many great ideas and knowledge get lost.
