The black sky of night, filled with the endless ocean of stars, enveloped his eyes. The darkness and vastness of the night sky encompassed his mind. He did not know where he was or how he arrived. His back was cold and his ligaments felt wet. He moved his head sideways. He saw water, lots of water, which then he realized he was floating in water. He turned back to the black sky. His arms and legs were submerged, with his body and head floating. His mind empty, eyes dazed, and mouth opened slightly. He was wearing a long sleeved cotton black shirt. His pants were a slim fit and colored gray. He wore skater shoes that were primarily black all around, with red lining. He did not understand anything at the moment. How he arrived in the water, with no land near, and why. But what seemed strange to him was that he did not care. His body felt drained, but at the same time, not. He could move if he wanted to, but it felt as if he did not have the strength too. He pondered longer, but suddenly felt something move quickly under him. He turned his head to the left, trying to look down into the water. It was pitch black, making it impossible to see anything. He returned to the stars above. Then, the strange movement under him occurred again. The water under him began to move faster and faster. It finally donned on the young man that the water was swirling around, in the motion of a whirlpool. Still not moving a bit, he began to spin as well. The water began to rise as he was twirling in the middle of the whirlpool. Then out of nowhere, the water dispersed from under the young man. His mind instantly regained control over his body. He turned his head and looked down behind him. Under him was a giant hole into a black pit. His breathing quickened, his eyes widen, his muscles tightened, and he tried to grab something with his right hand to save him from falling, despite that there was nothing at all. As he fell down, he saw the water whirling around him. The whirlpool had grown into an enormous sink hole in the water, at least 160 feet wide. He couldn’t understand what was happening; it did not make any sense to him. How did he arrive in the water, why was he not able to move before, and where did this whirlpool come from? The water wall of the whirlpool roared, drowning the young man’s screams. His eyes were fixed at the black sky, the stars shinning, having one last look before he reached the abyss. As the darkness of the abyss surrounded him, he stopped falling as he landed on some kind of floor. It was not a hard impact, but he jerk up after his back smack against the floor. He sat up, rubbing his back, trying to sooth the pain. He looked around himself to see the giant whirlpool still swirling. He looked behind him to see the ground he landed on was a small, in width, stretch of sea floor. It rose like a hill and had a trail downward. As he rose to his feet and stood up, looking up the whirlpool, and into the black night sky, the whirlpool wall before him began to move violently. His eyes were drawn to the movement as it began to form into something. Out of the water wall, a figured formed from the water and stood about half as tall as the entire whirlpool. The young man’s mouth dropped as the figure materialized. It resembled death in a water form. It had a cloak around its body, bony water arms and fingers; a large hood was at the top, with a dark hole in it. It stood before the young man, who was frozen in his position. The water death brought up its left hand and formed it into a fist. It began to bring its fist downward. The young man stumbled trying to run away as the fist came down, but was too slow. The fist impacted on the sea floor hill. The young man was not crushed, but enveloped in the fist. He floated within it for a few seconds and then realized he was still alive, but could not breathe. He tried to swim out of the fist, but suddenly was pulled into it by a current that flowed within the water death’s arm. He was rushed though the arm and through the chest to its right as water rushed against him, not being able to open his eyes or move, he was shot out the palm of the right hand. He was momentarily floating in midair with his eyes closed tightly together, still not realizing where he was. He opened them slowly and saw the huge figure before him and his heart sank. He looked directly into the hood of the water death and saw an abyss of darkness. Then the water death raised its right arm and formed it into a fist as well. It shot it at the young man, planning to punch him down unto the sea floor hill and crush him. The young man saw the fist coming towards him; it appeared to him in slow motion, still not understanding what was happening or how this could be happening. He could not accept it, that he would die like this, without any knowledge of the how and why of his situation. No, he wanted to find out, he needed to know, what was the reason for all of this? He suddenly stretched out his entire body yelling, “No!” Then, as the water death’s fist was about to impact against the young man, it was eradicated. A circular force field formed around the young man and the fist was dispersed. The water death pulled back its right arm. The young man was shocked, what did he just do? But then, remembered he was still in midair and began to fall once again. He fell all the way down back to the sea floor hill. Before landing, he stretched out his arms and said in his mind, “No.” The circular force field formed around him and embraced the ground. He stopped a few feet away from the floor. He did it again, the force field disappeared and he dropped down unto the hill on his feet. He stood up and looked at his hands. What was this power that he had? It seemed that every time he came close to death, he would simply reject it in his mind and a force field would appear and protect him. He smiled in amazement of this strange, but incredible power. He looked up quickly as he felt the wind blow by. He turned his head to see that the water death had launched its other fist towards and was only a few feet away from impact. “No.” The fist was eradicated as it was in the range of the force field. The water death pulled its arm back. The young man smiled. He looked back down the sea floor hill. It was a path that led down further into the water. He jolted. The water death withdrew into the wall of the whirlpool. The young man ran as fast as he could down the hill. It grew darker as he went down, not knowing where he was going, he did not care; it was away from the water death. Then, the water opened upward, splitting in half, opening the pathway even further, but not downward, but straight ahead. He could see the black sky above, with the stars shinning bright. He smiled and kept on running down the newly opened path way. As he ran, he looked back to see if the water death was following, but suddenly from the left wall, the water death’s black abyss face appeared. The young man did not realize it until he looked to his left and saw a huge blast of water shooting at him. His eyes widen and ducked by instinct, dodging the attack. He stumbled a bit, trying to regain his pace, and then increased his speed. The water death was following the young man along the two walls on the sides of the sea floor pathway. It jumped from wall to wall, shooting pumps of water at the boy, trying to blow him into the water. The young man dodged and jumped out of each shot, with incredible skill. He felt stronger and smarter, even so, he shouted aloud to the water death, “Is that all you got!” Then suddenly, the water death’s hand came out of the left wall, blocking the way through. It stood still, waiting for the young man to fall into its grasp, but he rejected it. As he came into contact, the force field shielded him and he passed through the water death’s hand, leaving a hole in the middle. The water death quickly drew its hand back. The water death grew tired of games and began to act more aggressively. The young man kept on running onward on the sea floor pathway and then saw the end of the trail. It led to a large rock island. He felt relieved at the site, believing he could escape this ordeal, but suddenly a wall of water rose up. The young man stopped as the water rose up, blocking the path. He looked around, trying to figure out a way out. He saw behind him that the water was collapsing. Time was running out. He looked to the left water wall and imagined a new pathway. He stretched out his hands and accepted the new path. At that moment, the left water wall split into, with a new pathway going on. The young man was surprised, but continued onward. As he continued along the new path, another water wall rose up, blocking him again. The young man looked to the right wall and did the same before. A new path opened and he ran on, and down that path, another water wall rose up, but much quicker. The young man reacted just as quickly and opened another path on the right wall. Once more down that path, as the water rose up quicker, and the young man opened another new pathway on the left wall. As this new pathway opened, it led directly to the rock island. The young man smiled and quickened his pace. Suddenly, behind him, he heard the water crashing down. He turned to look and saw the water death riding on the falling water walls, trying to crush him before he reached the rock island. The young man began to sprint, moving incredibly fast, astonished by his incredible speed. The sea floor pathway led under the rock island, with a small entrance. The young man could see this and felt hope in his heart. He flew onward down the path, as the water death increased its speed as well. The water death grew closer and closer to the young man, reaching out to him. It began to splash large water waves at the young man, from the two water walls that it was riding on. The young man saw the shadows of the large water globs coming down because of the shining moon. He lunged forward, with his hands out, landing on them and pushing himself over. He flipped himself out of the reach of the water globs and continued doing flips and cartwheels. The water death grew impatient, as the rock island grew near; it began to summon all the water behind it, storing it in its arms. The young man continued his flips and finally, with one last front flip, he landed on his feet, crouching. At that moment, he launched forward like a rocket. The rock island was at reach, he saw the entrance, his heart began to lift up with hope, but suddenly he looked behind him to see the water death only a few feet away with its ghastly hand reach out. The water death used the stored water, increasing its pressure and shot itself at the young man. Its left hand came down upon him, but incredibly, he turned on his right leg, turning himself sideways quick enough as the hand came down, sliding between the fingers, and then launched forward on his left leg. The water death launched its right hand from the side, in a fist. The young man, jumped up and over the fist. The water death kept on launching attacks, but the young man continued to dodge its grasp. The young man never felt so incredible. He was moving in such a way he never thought he could do. He even began to slow down a bit because he felt so professional, but then tripped as he landed down on one of his flips. He landed on his foot the wrong way and fell forward. The water death saw this and quickly lunged. Both of its enormous hands were around the young man, who was upside down, looking back at the water death. He could not recover, it was over, the water death had him now, but he looked behind him, seeing the rock island and the entrance upside down, just a few feet away. He turned his head back and smiled. “No!” He stretched out his arms and opened his palms toward the water death. This time, there was no force field, but instead a pulse of the similar substance of the force field that, out of the palms of his hands, propelled him forward, escaping the water death’s grasp. He flew straight into the entrance of the rock island. It was dark and cold. He kept on flying in the air from the pulse wave he shot, until he hit a wall. He smashed through it and was still conscious. He thought to himself as he flew; these powers were strange enough, but now his body was apparently very durable. Then, he looked down to see he was still in air and began to fall down once more. As he fell, he heard the rushing of water flow under him. Could the water death have followed him into the rock island? He fell into a large pool of water and swam up to the surface. The island must be a cave of some sort, but it must have a surface as well. He began swimming in some random direction, searching for a shore, but then the water began to move violently under him. He realized he was not alone. But then he was pulled under and into a current. He could not swim out of it or move, the current was too strong. The water current sucked him into a hole in the walls of the rock island. He moved up and down, he could barely see where he was going. Then, a moment he was able to raise up out of the water and see for a few seconds and saw that the there were two tunnels that came up next. The water current was pulling him to a specific one, the left tunnel, which probably led to the outside, where the water death was. He used all his might and focused, timing it right; he used his special power and propelled himself down the other tunnel. The current in this new tunnel was less violent and controlling. He was able to rise out of the water and see his path. Then the tunnel opened up, leading to a drop. The young man gasped as he plummeted down. His heart flew up and his face was forced back as the wind picked up. Then, as he reached the bottom, the tunnel floor rose up, forcing the young man to prop up onto his feet. He stumbled to stay on the tunnel floor, as it was very slippery and the current continued. The speed of the current was so fast, that the young man continued moving on top of the water. He could not believe his eyes; he was sliding on the water as an ice-skater. He laughed aloud and leaned forward, increasing his speed. This path should lead him to the surface or somewhere far away from the water death, but suddenly the path led to an intersection between another tunnels current. Out of the other tunnel, the water current was very violent and out of control. He needed to time his jump right or he would be carried off into the other tunnel, leading who knows where. In a second, he reached the intersection and readied himself. He jumped, flipping over the raging water current flowing across the one he road. He looked into the current and suddenly saw the water death’s abysmal face. Out of the raging current, a large hand broke out, missing the young man by an inch. The young man breathed in relief and landed on the original current. He continued sliding on the water, moving his feet back and forth, propelling himself forward. The tunnel began to raise turning around in swirls. The young man knew if he continued following this current he would raise up to the surface. Then the tunnel opened up again, hovering over a vast opening between two walls. He looked down, seeing nothing, but darkness. Then, the cave began to shake violently, almost knocking the young man off the current. He looked down again and saw water rising up. His eyes widen and with his right leg, shot himself forward. He reached to the other side and into the other tunnel in the nick of time. The water rose upward and followed him into the tunnel. He could hear the roaring of the water behind him; sure that it was the water death. He continued on sliding faster as the water behind him swarmed. Water began coming out of holes and cracks out of the walls as the young man flew by. Then he saw it, the end of the tunnel. It was uphill, a light shined through it. His heart flew and he rocketed outward. The water behind him swarmed in a vicious struggle that it began to cave in the rock island inside. The night sky was clear and black still. The young man shot out through the hole and into the sky. He was suspended in the air for quite a long time. Everything was slow and lasted longer than it should have. His eyes were glazed, his mind was blank, and he didn’t care where he was or how he got here. It felt normal, a feeling unexplainable, but it made sense to him. He could hear the swarming water the chased him, spewing out of the hole. It roared in agony and distress. The young man, still suspended in air, closed his eyes. He knew. It had returned. Was there hope? Was there even a chance? The swarming water fell onto the surface of the rock island. As it secreted into the rock, the rock island began to tremble vigorously. Boulders and pieces of the rock island fell off into the ocean surrounding it. Large cracks formed all over the surface. The water around the rock island circled around it incredibly fast, slicing at the sides, chipping off pieces. Then, suddenly, the roaring ceased, the circulating water stood still. A loud, deep, moan came from with the rock island. Then, the surface of the rock island collapsed in. Within the rock island, a whirlpool began to form. The whirlpool grew incredibly large and shattered the rock island into pieces, sucking into the abyss. The whirlpool formed even more ferocious, deepening itself, forming the similar whirlpool before. But at the bottom of the whirlpool, where the darkness resided, a figure began to exert out of the water. Something was trying to break through the surface. Still suspended in the air, the young man was upside down, his head facing the abyss of the whirlpool. He had no doubt in his mind. It had to be done. Watery bone hands stretched out of the abyss, ripping through the center of the whirlpool. The young man began to descend down, not moving at all. The watery bone hands grasped the sides of the whirlpool and applied pressure. His muscles were lose, his mouth agape, his breathing slowed down, his eyes still closed, and his mind waiting, fading, floating away. With the applied pressure, the water death broke out through the surface of the center of the whirlpool. It roared, raising its arms upwards, the water flew up, violently spinning around. The water death lunged up to the young man. The water rose up passing the young man; the arms of the water death surrounded him, drawing him closer to its dark face. It was at that moment that the young man opened his eyes and stretched out his arms, opening his palm toward the water death. “It ends here!” With those words, the force field formed around him, but also propelled outward. He combined the powers of the force field’s eradicating ability and the propelling pulse together to increase its range. The force field grew and grew, eradicating the water death’s arms and the rising water. The young man glared and continued shouting, directly at the water death. His eyes were focused on the water death’s abysmal face. The force field continued in growth and enveloped the water death’s body. The force field disrupted the flow of the whirlpool and ceased it. The water death was enveloped in the force field and slowly dissipated. From its lower body upward and down its arms, all that remained was the hooded head. All slowed down once again, the young man ceased his yelling and his glare. He looked at the helpless death. It looked on to him as well. Something sad, dreadful, painful, and depressing took over the young man. Tears weld up in his eyes and he reached out to the water death with his right hand, but it simply dissipated. Was there any hope? He knew the end result before it even happened, but did he understand the meaning of it all? He fell down from the sky, his eyes glazed and his mind blank. The water beneath calmed down. As he crashed onto it, he felt as if he fell into the night sky, the cold emptiness, the shallow radiance of the stars millions of years away; he continued to drift in the unending abyss of space.
