Human Resources Division
Fixed Term (5 Year, Part Time) Appointment
The University’s Management Cadetship is a five year fixed term contract aimed at Yr 12 school leavers. Cadets
rotate through a number of areas across the University including HR, Finance, Marketing, Audit, Policy & Governance
and Student Administration. Cadets also undertake a relevant undergraduate degree majoring in areas such as
Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting or Business Information Systems. Other areas of study may be
acceptable if they are considered compatible with the work placements of the cadetship.
During the final two years of the Cadetship, cadets undertake a specialised placement relating to their degree major
which prepares the cadet for gaining a position in their chosen field.
Responsibilities of the management cadet vary according to the work unit to which they are assigned. All duties are
outlined and agreed upon at the commencement of each placement.

Warrane is a residential college affiliated with UNSW which offers its residents a more complete university

UTS Engineering Bonus Points Questionnaire
Questionnaire closes Fri 28th November
Students applying to a UTS engineering degree could be eligible for up to 5 bonus points by completing the UTS
Engineering Year 12 Bonus Points Questionnaire. Early round offers will also be made on the basis of this
questionnaire.

UTS Nanga Mai – Postponed to September 18 2014

Nanga Mai provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from years 10, 11 and 12 with a taste of what
university is like at UTS. Attendees can choose two different lecture/workshops across all their faculties, meet UTS’s
current Indigenous students and hear about their experiences, gain information about Jumbunna’s pathways to
university and learn about future careers.

UTS Jumbunna Direct Entry

Direct Entry is an admissions pathway for Indigenous students to access a place at UTS, through testing, assessment
and an interview.

UAC Educational Access Schemes
Most of UAC’s participating institutions have Educational Access Schemes (EAS) to help students who have
experienced long-term educational disadvantage gain admission to tertiary study. To be eligible for EAS
consideration, student educational performance must have been seriously affected for a period of at least six
months during Year 11 and/or 12 or equivalent, due to circumstances beyond their control and choosing.

ACT Early Childhood Degree Scholarship Program
Applications close Fri 22nd August
The ACT Government is offering scholarships up to $6000 over four years to individuals wanting to study towards an
early childhood education degree. The first 25 scholarships under the program will be awarded in 2014-15, and paid
to scholarship holders in installments of $1500 per year.

ANU Guaranteed ATAR Cut-offs for UAC Main Round Offers 2015
The Guaranteed ATAR Cut-offs apply to Offers made in the UAC Domestic Main Round only (January 21). By setting
their guaranteed ATAR Cut-offs early, prospective students will be able to identify which programs they're eligible to
receive an Offer for as soon as they get their results.

The National Access Scheme – ANU Bonus Points Schedule Confirmed for Next Two Years
ANU offers bonus points for nationally strategic senior secondary subjects, and in recognition of difficult
circumstances that students face in their studies. Bonus points are applied to all applicants with an ATAR at or above
70. Points are awarded in accordance with the approved schedule, and no more than 10 points (maximum 5
academic points and maximum 5 equity points) will be awarded.
The University recognises that prospective students value the certain knowledge of additional bonus points when
planning their subject selections. As such, they’ve published their Bonus Point Schedule for the next two years.

University of Sydney Engineering Leadership Scholarships
Students will receive an annual stipend of $18,000. Students take part in an annual structured professional
experience placement with a leading firm, so they can graduate with business and leadership skills without
extending the duration of their degrees. They will also receive leadership insights through working with the
University of Sydney’s John Grill Centre for Project Leadership and having direct access to an industry mentor.

Applications are now open for the September school holiday workshops taking place from Monday 22nd September
to Thursday 25th September.
Workshops are available in Photography, Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, Graphic Design and Interior Design.

Held throughout the September Holidays, workshops enable students to sit with teachers who are experts in their
respective subject to clarify all course content and work through potential HSC questions. The September workshop
