Phone Credit System Each program requires you to earn a certain number of credits (at least 30) Each course is worth a certain number of credits Credits = contact hours per week Typical courses carry 3 credits Typical course load: 2 courses = 6 credits Student Status Full-time: ◦ A student carrying 9 or more credit hours per quarter Part-time: ◦ A student carrying fewer than 9 credit hours per quarter The Academic Program Core Courses – required Focus Area – choose from a list of courses within 1. 2. an area of concentration 3. You can visit classes you’re not registered in to help you decide. Late Add ◦ To add a course after the add/drop deadline, you must receive permission from the instructor. Withdrawal ◦ To drop a course after the add/drop deadline, you will receive a grade of “W” on your transcript. This does not affect your GPA, but is permanently on your record. You can only withdrawal until the 12th week of the semester.
