2. California Association of Collectors Educational Scholarship Foundation

3. Ronald McDonald House Charities U.S. Scholarship Program- 109 available

This year, RMHC of Southern California will award 109 scholarships. To apply students must meet the

college, university or vocational/technical school with a completed course of study

4. Mission Viejo Activities Committee- $1000- (Deadline: January 27, 2016)
The Mission Viejo Activities Committee has established a volunteer scholarship program to honor high
school seniors of exceptional character and dedication to volunteerism.
Applicants must be:
 US Citizens
 Applicant must have volunteered at least 200 hours; 50 hours must have been
performed in Mission Viejo during high school years.
 Current high school seniors planning to enroll for the first time in a full-time
course of study at an accredited U.S. four year college or university, or a
baccalaureate program at a two year college in the fall following graduation or a

1. The Christermon Foundation Beverage Industry College Scholarship Program (Deadline: February 1,
2016)
Student applicants MUST be affiliated with the California licensed beverage industry through a parent or
grandparent’s current full-time employment with a company holding a valid liquor, beer or wine license.
Retailers/airlines/restaurants/hotels/suppliers/distributors/breweries/wineries, etc., are but a few that

2. California State PTA Scholarship Program- $500/$750- (Deadline: February 1, 2016)
Purpose – The California State PTA offers Graduating High School Senior Scholarships ($750) to
recognize volunteer service by high school seniors in a school and community.
Graduating High School Senior Scholarships
Eligibility – For the Graduating High School Senior Scholarship, successful applicants meet the following
criteria:

PTA member graduating from a high school in California between January 1 and June 30 of
the current academic year

Current member of his/ her high school PTA which is in good standing

Scholarship used during fall semester following high school graduation for studies at
accredited colleges, universities, trade or technical schools


Enroll in courses accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges,
Inc., Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, New England Association
of Schools and Colleges, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools,

Selection – Each year, the California State PTA Scholarship and Grant Committee carefully reads and vets
each scholarship application. All applicants are notified of their status in March.
Scholarship winners receive a letter of congratulations and recognition certificate from California State
PTA along with a check.

Dr. Ralph E. White Graduating Senior Scholarships – Each year, this program awards a scholarship for
$500 to two (2), successful applicants of the Graduating High School Senior Scholarship who intend to
pursue a career in a medical field.
Two students selected to receive a Graduating High School Senior Scholarship are awarded an additional
$500 from the Dr. Ralph E. White Graduating Senior Scholarship Program.

8. National Co-op Scholarship Program- Up to $24,000 for four years- (Deadline: February 15, 2016)
College cooperative education is a unique academic program combining classroom studies with
professional work experience in a field related to your education and career goals. Co-op gives you a
wonderful opportunity to gain professional job experience and, at the same time, earn money to help
with expenses while you are in school.
Qualifications:
 Have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 of better on a 4.0 scale.

10. The Dream US Scholarship (Deadline: February 15, 2016)
TheDream.US is a national scholarship fund for DREAMers. They provide college scholarships to highly
motivated DREAMers who have DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or TPS (Temporary
Protected Status) approval and who, without financial aid, cannot afford a college education.
This scholarship is available to high school seniors or high school graduates with demonstrated financial
need who are first time college students and seek to earn a career-ready associate’s or bachelor’s
degree at one of our Partner Colleges. Scholars are selected from a nationwide pool of applicants. To be
eligible to apply, you must:
 Be a first-time college student (i.e., a student with no more than 12 college credits excluding
credits earned in a dual enrollment program or advance placement testing);
 Intend to enroll in and attend one of TheDream.US Partner Colleges in 2016 and be eligible for
in-state tuition;
 Have a high school un-weighted GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent GED score);
 Have come to the United States before reaching your 16th birthday;
 Be DACA or TPS eligible and have applied for or received DACA or TPS approval; and
 Demonstrate significant unmet financial need.

Asian Pacific Fund administers 12 scholarship programs, each with unique eligibility criteria. Scholarship
amounts range from $1,000 to $20,000 and many are renewable.

12. EduGuide Challege- $1000- (Deadline: TBA)
Weeks before he was assassinated, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his famous
sermon, “The Drum Major Instinct,” in which he candidly shared how he wanted to be remembered for
his core purpose: to give his life serving others. It’s a call to dedicate our lives to making a better world.
Now it’s your turn to spread the call in the nonprofit EduGuide Challenge. U.S. students in grades 6-12
are invited to submit your own, original 1-5 minute video message by 11:59 pm ET on TBA
Criteria for Selection of Winners:
 How clearly and compellingly you communicate your core purpose and what you want to
contribute to the world, including how you will use your education to prepare.
 How many online votes your video receives during the voting period, TBA.
Total YouTube video views will also be considered. The more you promote your video to your
family and friends, the more views and votes you will receive.
Both traditional speeches and creative delivery styles are welcome. While Dr. King presented his
message in a sermon, your original, self-created video should be based on whatever inspires you to
make a difference in people’s lives. Judges will take the student's grade level and chosen presentation
style into consideration in selecting a range of winners. Group submissions will also be considered.

13. Buick Achievers Scholarship Program- Up to $100,000 over 4 years- (Deadline: TBA)
 We encourage the following to apply:
 High school seniors and current undergraduates
 U.S. military veterans and their dependents
 Those who plan to enroll full time at a four-year college or university in 2016-2017
 Those who plan to major in a field focused on engineering, technology, design or business, with
an interest in the automotive industry.

Demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the automotive or related industries using these
areas of study.

Excluded from consideration are employees and relatives of employees of Scholarship Management
Services, Scholarship America and their affiliates and subcontractors, and GM Foundation directors,
officers and staff and their relatives. Although GM employees are not eligible, relatives of General

Scholarship recipients are selected based on the following factors:

Award Amounts
The Buick Achievement Scholarship Program is offering:

Up to $25,000 per year to 50 first-time or existing college students, renewable for up to four
years, and one additional year for those entering a qualified five-year engineering program
•
The actual award amount will not exceed the total cost of the student’s tuition, fees, books,
supplies, required equipment, room and board and other allowable expenses, less other gift aid known
at the time of application (scholarships, grants and other awards that do not have to be paid back).
Awards are renewable for the given years noted above or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever
occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a cumulative 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0
scale), full-time enrollment and continuing to major in an eligible field of study.

UNIVERSITY BRIDGE SCHOLARSHIP
This need-based scholarship provides NewSchool students with further financial assistance to fund their

2. Change a Life Foundation- Orange County Scholarship- $5000 (Deadline: TBA)
Scholarship Criteria
 Must be attending an Orange County Public High School.
 Must be a 12th grade student enrolling in a four-year College or University.
 Must have a minimum weighted GPA of 3.5 from 9th grade to the first semester of 12th grade.
 Must have a minimum SAT score of 1500 or minimum ACT score of 21.
 Must be enrolled in and/or have passed Advanced Placement courses (AP courses).
 Must be at or below HUD Income Guidelines.
 Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident.
 Must show evidence of extracurricular activities such as school activities, community
involvement, and/or employment.

4. Italian Catholic Federation-$400- (Deadline: TBA)
One of the many programs of the Federation is to offer college scholarships to further the education
of students who achieve a total cumulative GPA (3 ½ years) of at least 3.2 and meet all of the
requirements in either #1 or #2: 1) Are Roman Catholic and of Italian Descent and live within the
Roman Catholic Dioceses of Arizona, California, Illinois and Nevada, only where Branches of

2. The 2016 PFLAG South Orange County Scholarships (Deadline: TBA)
Outstanding graduating high school seniors and college/vocational students are encouraged to apply for
the 2016 scholarships offered through PFLAG South Orange County. Monetary awards up to $2,500 are
available to residents (or children of residents) of Orange County between the ages of 17-24 who
identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer/questioning, and to straight allies who

scholarships to LGBT students who are studying journalism and communications at four-year
colleges. Scholarship recipients are also required to take part in a summer internship program in
Washington, D.C.
 The Point Foundation provides scholarships

undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students. Of particular interest to scholarship
administrators is the ability to help those students whose sexual orientation has led them to be
isolated and/or abandoned by family, friends, and separated from traditional support systems.
 Transgender Scholarship and Education Legacy Fund (TSELF) is for students who have identified
themselves as transgender and are pursuing careers in religion, social services, healthcare,
law, and education. Scholarships are sponsored by the International Foundation for Gender
Education.
 ZAMI Nobla (National Organization of Black Lesbians on Aging) is active in promoting African

3. Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce- $1000 (Deadline: April 15, 2016)
We are looking to provide one scholarship for $1,000 on behalf of the Mission Viejo Chamber of
Commerce.

Each season, when approved by our board of Directors, AYSO Region 85 awards
college scholarships (normally $500) to each of up to four high school seniors who have
given back to the region as volunteers.
Criteria
• A high school senior
• Must have volunteered as an AYSO coach, referee or other position for a
minimum of one full regular season
• Have applied to a community college, a four-year college, or a trade school
• Have a 2.50 minimum GPA
• Additional community/volunteer service (not mandatory, but may be viewed
when selecting recipients)
Application Process
1. Fill out the application
2. Provide one academic reference letter
3. Provide one reference letter from an AYSO Region 85 adult volunteer in a
supervisory position.
4. Write a 200-300 word essay and attach it to application. Essay prompt is on
application form.
5. Provide a copy of your most recent report card.
Selection Process: The Scholarship Committee will review all applications. All
applicants will be considered and judged without regard to race, creed, sex, religion,
national origin, or financial need.

5. Bill Bailey and Patsy S. Barry Scholarships (Deadline: TBA)
The Bill Bailey Scholarships are for the children of SVEA members who will graduate from high school
this year. The parent of any applicant must have been a member of SVEA for at least three years and
must currently be a member. Applications can be picked up in room 123 from Mrs. Elson or at the link
below.
The Patsy S. Barry Scholarships are awarded to college students who will be doing their student teaching
in the 2016-2017 school year. These scholarships are available to any resident of the Saddleback Valley
Unified School District. Applications may be picked up in the SVEA office or at the link below.
Completed applications must be in the SVEA office before 4:00 pm on Monday, TBA.
Applications which are incomplete or received after the deadline will not be given consideration. This
deadline includes letters of recommendation.

6. 2016 Student View Scholarship Program (Deadline: TBA)
The 2015 Student-View Scholarship program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school
seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. The program
includes:
-One $4,000 scholarship
-Two $1,000 scholarships
-Ten $500 scholarships

7. 2015 Marbella Golf Scholarship- $10,000 (Deadline: TBA)
The Marbella Scholarship Foundation is a tax exempt public charity, founded
in 1995 by a group of members at Marbella Country Club in San Juan Capistrano,
California. The sole purpose of the foundation is to help fund college educations
for local students.
Senior boys and girls who have participated on a golf team and have attended high
school in South Orange County are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Golfing
ability is not a citerion for receiving the scholarship. Immediate members, children
and grandchildren, of Marbella Country Club families are not eligible to apply
for the scholarship.
Each year the competition for the scholarship attracts applicants from all of the
public and private high schools in South Orange County. Academic achievement,
community service, financial need, letters of recommendation, and a personal
interview are all considered for the award.
The deadline for the 2016 Marbella Scholarship is TBA. To be considered for the $10,000.00 college
scholarship, all applications must be at the front office of Marbella Country Club before 3:30 on that
date. Interviews for the finalists for the scholarship will be held on Saturday TBA. This will be the only
date for the interview. The application for the scholarship is available on the public website for Marbella

1. PTSA 2016 Graduating High School Senior Scholarship, $500 (Deadline: May 1, 2016)
Purpose: The Trabuco Hills High PTSA offers 3 Graduating Senior scholarships in the amount of $500
each to acknowledge the achievements of high school seniors in their school, on the THHS PTSA and in
the community.
Availability: Scholarship funds are available to high school seniors who are currently PTSA members at
Trabuco Hills High School and graduating between January 1 and June 23 of the current academic year.
This scholarship needs to be used during the fall semester/quarter following high school graduation at
an accredited college or university, community college or trade/technical school.
Application and due date: An application may be obtained from the Career Center or Mrs. Clement in
the THHS Guidance Office. References are to be completed by an adult who can speak on behalf of your
qualifications. The completed reference form and letter should be given to the applicant in a sealed
envelope to be included with the application packet. Do not submit more than one reference form or
letter.
Completed application, essay responses and reference form(s) and letter(s) in sealed envelopes are to
be submitted to Mrs. Clement in the THHS Guidance Office and received by May 1st no later than 3 PM.
Application will not be considered if received after the due date or if any of the required materials are
missing. Original application and reference forms with letter(s) must be delivered in person. Facsimiles
will not be accepted.

This scholarship recognizes an outstanding student in the school, PTSA and community who has a
minimum grade point average requirement of 2.0 or better. Consideration will be given to students for

Selection
Recipients are selected by representatives of the Trabuco Hills High Senior Scholarship Committee and
approved by the PTSA association meetings. A check for the scholarship will be given directly to the
recipient at the Senior Award Night ceremony.

2. IAPMO Scholarship - $1,000 - 3 Award (Deadline: May 1, 2016)
Student Eligibility:
Must be a current high school senior; or enrolled or accepted as a full-time (12 credit hours) student in
an accredited technical school, community college, trade school, four-year accredited college or
university, or an apprentice program.

3. Stuart Herman B’nai B’rith Scholarship (Deadline: May 11, 2016)
One scholarship will be awarded to a Trabuco Hills High School student. Because this is a local
scholarship, you have a very good chance of being picked. 5 students that apply will move on to short
10-15 minute interview with the B’nai B’rith organization and one student will be chosen to receive that
award.
Qualifications:
-Must be a senior
-The award is based on 75% scholarship and 25% service
-Minimum GPA of 3.5
-Candidates should be well rounded in terms of academics, school activities, and community service
-Applications are due May 11th and interviews will be held on May 18th

The Saddleback Valley Educational Foundation is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for the Dr. Walter
Cascell Scholarship for 2015. The amount of the Dr. Walter Cascell Scholarship is $750.00.
Any individual who will graduate from a Saddleback Valley Unified School District high school in June, 2015, with a B or higher

10. The Rotary Club of Coto de Caza & Rancho Santa Margarita del Sol Annual Community Service
Scholarship Competition- $2500 (Deadline: TBA)
The Rotary Club of Coto de Caza & Rancho Santa Margarita del Sol (“Rotary del Sol”) is proud to announce its
Annual Community Service Scholarship Competition. Rotary del Sol has created a scholarship in the amount of
$2,500 to be awarded to local graduating high school seniors. Scholarship candidates are asked to complete the
enclosed application which will be evaluated by Rotary del Sol Scholarship Committee, which consists of 5
members of Rotary del Sol. From the applications, three to five finalists will be selected based upon their proven
commitment to community service and academic performance. From the finalists, one winner of the scholarship
will be selected based upon the merits of a community service project they will design and present for
implementation by our Rotary Club. The project will be intended to serve our local community and seek to
involve members of our Club, local high school students and members of our community. Each of the finalists will
