• As a result of Spain getting new land, they send Marquis de
Rubi to East Texas to write a report
• From his recommendations, Spain closes all the missions and
presidios in East Texas
• They also moved all settlers from East Texas to San Antonio
1776-1783
• The 13 colonies declare their independence from England in the
Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson
• Signed on July 4, 1776

SPAIN AND US BORDER PROBLEMS
