POSITION: Programmer Analyst Position Status: Fulltime Application Deadline: September 6, 2013 Job Description: Analyzes customer data requirements; designs, codes, tests, modifies and debugs software to produce customer data requirements; provides documentation to support the maintenance of all software developed; suggests design improvements and additional tools to better support data analysis and reporting; and manages annual cycle of recurring data extraction for end users and outside reporting agencies. Software development environments include but are not limited to web server technologies, stand-alone Windows applications, AIX/Unix shell scripts, and PL/SQL. Limited server administration in Windows and AIX/Unix environments are also under this positions responsibilities. Maintains confidentially. Maintain qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual, CGTC policies and procedures, and accreditation standards. Position may require travel to any of the locations with the College’s service area. Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards: 1. Analyzes customer data requirements; 2. Designs, codes, tests, modifies and debugs software; 3. Tests software and analyzes output prior to delivery to the user 4. Makes modifications to the software as needed to achieve the proper output of data to meet the user request; 5. Modifies software as needed for subsequent requests as technology and/or the internal database changes; 6. Provides documentation to end user concerning anomalies or exceptions to the data output requested; 7. Suggests design improvements; 8. Manages annual cycle of recurring data extraction; 9. Limited server administration in Windows and AIX/Unix environments; 10. Graphic design and logical layout of applications developed; Sample Technical Competencies: 1. Ability to perform application debugging 2. Ability to design software 3. Ability to prepare and use flow charts 4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written 5. Knowledge of programming systems, software and hardware configuration 6. Knowledge of the Structured Query Language (SQL) 7. Knowledge of Cold Fusion, PHP, asp, .NET LOCATION/SCHEDULE: This position will primarily work the College’s normal day hours of 7:45 a.m. to4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. A flexible schedule or additional hours to include evenings and/or weekends as needed. Position will be assigned to the Macon campus with travel as needed. Minimum Qualifications: One year certificate or degree from a college or training institution with specific courses in database programming concepts and one year of experience working with a relational database programming system. Preferred Qualifications, in addition to minimum qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in a computer related field from a four year college or university. Professional certification in network, operating systems, and/or relational database software development from a recognized accrediting association or vendor; vocational-technical training institution; or military training in a computer field. Vendor specific certifications including Oracle and Microsoft SQL. All course work and certifications should include a concentration of database programming related topics. Proficient in the use of Microsoft ® Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Salary / Benefits: Gross annual rate to be determined. This is a 12 month, full-time position and is eligible for benefits to include retirement, insurance, leave accrual and holiday pay.
