Procedures/Activities:

Monday, Jan. 28 –What do we learn about Chris McCandless from other related stories?

1. Finish reading Chapter 9 of Into the Wild.

2. Using the SpringBoard books, complete Activity 5.8 “Shedding Light.” What do we learn about Chris

McCandless from these other related stories? (Characterization)

3. Begin Unit 8 Vocabulary Definitions and Completing the Sentence in order to review for upcoming vocabulary quiz. Pages 91-95. (This will count as Homework #2.)

HW: Page 6 of the booklet is due tomorrow. There will also be a Chapters 9-11 Quiz on Friday.

Tuesday, Jan. 29- How do I “Write to Show?”

1.HW#2: Definitions and Completing the Sentence pages 91-95.

2.Page 6 “Writing to Show” is due! Students may use additional class time to finish up writing assignment before results.

3. Use remaining class time to read Into the Wild in preparation for the Chapters 9-11 reading quiz on

Friday.
