The West Central Regional Service Center was formed by the elected County School Superintendents as part of a statewide move
toward a shared services model. It is comprised of La Paz, Mohave, Yavapai, and Yuma Counties.
New materials are added frequently so check back often!
As we move forward implementing Common Core, the WCRSC has provided you with the tools and Professional Development

This Phase 1 AZ ELA Common Core 2-Day Teacher conference provides teachers, staff development specialists and teacherleaders an introduction to the Arizona Common Core Standards. Teachers will learn to navigate the K-12 ELA 2010
documents and prepare for content rigor and cognitive demand changes in instructional practice. Topics include: introduction
and overview; making sense of appendices; cognitive demand; deconstructing standards; PARCC assessment.
Session topics include: Common Core State Standards – Background: Module1: The Introduction and Overview;
Module2: Making Sense of the Appendices; Module 3: Rigor; Module 4: Deconstructing the Standard; Module 5:
Assessment.
