PARK CITY, UT – The sizzling, Grammy Award-winning Gipsy Kings, who leapt to the top of the
charts with “Bamboléo” (the first of many hits) – and have charmed fans around the globe ever since
– return to Park City to join the St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights line-up on August 22. Special
guest Arc Iris opens the show at 7 p.m. All St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights concerts take place at

“The best thing to come out of Arles, France since Vincent Van Gogh,” according to People
magazine, this band of cousins – the Reyes and Baliardo families – blends Catalonian acoustic roots
of pop-flavored flamenco and salsa with a spicy mix of party-inducing world music influences.
Playing “rumba flamenca,” The Gipsy Kings’ combination of Latin, Cuban, Arabic, reggae, jazz and
gypsy have resulted in 25 million records sold and praise from all corners of the world. The French
guitar ensemble performs in a gypsy language that blends Spanish, French and Catalan as Tonino
Baliardo’s fluid guitar work meets Nicolas Reyes’s powerful vocals. The sound combines samba,
flamenco, rumba, tango and contemporary influences, artfully blended with sizzling showmanship
and musicianship.
A Washington Post review of the band’s 2014 album – and ninth studio album – “Savor Flamenco,”
raves “… the group’s trademark virtuosity and verve are as engaging as ever.” And the band’s live
shows never fail to get audiences on their feet. As a recent Henley Standard (England) review noted,
“There was dancing in the aisles, the stands and even on passing boats when the Gipsy Kings
headlined the Henley Festival last night [Saturday].” In addition to recording and touring, The Gipsy
Kings have contributed to film and television soundtracks, such as “The Big Lebowski,” “Toy Story
3” and the HBO series “Entourage.”
Special guest Arc Iris (Jocie Adams) opens the show. The composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist
(formerly with the indie-folk band The Low Anthem) performs a unique blend of cabaret-infused
jazz, which is inflected with folk, country and ’70s pop.

Teri Orr. “They have crafted such a beautiful, culture-fusing sound and they always deliver an
irresistibly danceable show.”

All St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights concerts take place at Deer Valley Resort’s Snow Park
Outdoor Amphitheater. Shows start at 7 p.m. (gates open at 5:30 p.m.) Tickets may be purchased

Gates open 90-minutes before show time. Coolers are permitted and a nine-inch chair height
restriction (i.e. you shouldn't be able to roll a basketball under the seat) is enforced. Concerts will
be held rain or shine.

ENTERTAINING, EDUCATING AND ILLUMINATING SINCE 1998
Park City Institute is a non-profit organization, dedicated to bringing world-class performances and
new ideas to the community. Since 1998, PCI has presented internationally renowned and cutting
edge musicians, actors, authors, comedians, dancers, speakers and film at The George S. and
Dolores Doré Eccles Center for the Performing Arts (a joint-use facility with the Park City School
District). The organization is presenting its 12th season of headliner concerts at Deer Valley Resort
this summer. PCI is dedicated to introducing young people to the arts through free student outreach
workshops, shows and demonstrations. They proudly launched the Mega-Genius Supply Store and IQ
HQ - an after school literacy program and very thinky retail store - in January 2010 and recently
opened a second Mega-Genius retail shop in New Park this spring. And the organization continues
