Ephesians 5:20 Father, I pray that my family will always trust our very lives to You, the God who created us, for You will never fail us. I Peter 4:19 O God, give us understanding that “the life of the godly is full of light and joy.” Proverbs 13:9 I pray that we each live our lives “by faith, not be sight” so we may all be “at home with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 Help us Lord, to “keep our tongue from evil and our lips from speaking lies.” Help us “seek peace and pursue it.” Psalm 34:12-14 YEARNING FOR GOD HUMILITY COURAGE GENEROSTIY Lord, please give us all humbleness, “in the sight of the Lord” that You might lift us up. James 4:10 Whatever this life may bring, Father, help us to “be strong and courageous” because You will be with us wherever we go. Joshua 1:9 Help us to share not only when it is convenient for us, but to give abundantly, and to “always be ready to share with those in need.” 1 Timothy 6:18 MERCY In this self-centered world, I pray we value the needs of others. You have promised “blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” Matthew 5:7 KINDNESS Father, help us each day put You above all else; help us to always follow after You and “cling to You.” “Come Lord Jesus.” Psalm 63:8, Rev. 22:20 DISCIPLINE Lord, may I discipline my children well, in a way that honors you, “because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” Prov. 3:12, Ephesians 6:4 LOVING ATTITUDE Dear Lord, help us all to “do everything without complaining or arguing” so we “shine like stars in the universe” and others may see You in us. Philippians 2:14-15 SELF CONTROL VIEW OF GOD May my family be under the guidance of the Spirit and be blessed by the fruit of “self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23 May we each see You so “high and exalted” that all else will pale in significance to that vision. Isaiah 6:1 May the words of our mouths, and the meditation of our hearts be pleasing in Your eyes, O Lord, our Rock and our Redeemer. Psalm 19:14 Help me every day, dear Father, to tell this next generation of Your praiseworthy deeds, Your power, and the wonders You have done so they would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.
