Grading Categories
• There are 6 main categories that you will be
graded on during your presentations this
semester. They are:
1. Eye contact
2. Volume
3. Speed
4. Articulation
5. Stance
6. Content
1. Eye Contact
• Looking the audience members in the eye
• Do not read your notes the whole time
• No bobble-head dolls!
2. Volume
• Not too loud or too quiet
• Conversational tone
• Speak to the corners of the classroom
3. Speed
• Not to fast or too slow
• Appropriate pauses between sentences or
ideas
4. Articulation
• How clearly you are speaking
• Don’t mumble or trail off
• Don’t jumble all your words together in a long
string!
5. Stance
• No hoods, hats, or backpacks
• Don’t fiddle with clothing or hair
• Be tall and stand with presence!
• Don’t sway or shake your limbs
• Hold your notecards low and still
6. Content
• Did you follow the instructions?
