SUBJECT: d’Iberville High School, Fall 2015, Drill Competition

TO: Team Sponsors

28 August 2015

1. The purpose of this Letter of Instruction (LOI) is to provide guidelines and information to all participants in the drill competition to be conducted 26 September 2015, at d’Iberville Warrior Stadium.

2. General Information.

a. The competition will consist of events at Enclosure 1.

b. There will not be a commander’s call. The competition will start at 0800 at the stadium.

The stadium is located at the intersection of Lamey Bridge Road and Warrior Drive. It is

located across the street from the d’Iberville Middle School, 3320 Warrior Drive.

c. Each school will be responsible for the security of their own equipment.

d. Awards.

(1) First, second, and third place trophies will be awarded for each category of the .

competition. The color guard competition will award trophies thru third place, both

male and female. The total scores for all events will determine the overall winner

trophies. It is not necessary to be entered in all events to qualify for the overall

trophies. In the case of a tie for overall winner, the male color guard competition

will be used to determine the winner.

(2) The score for the overall competition winner will be determined based on how the

school finished in each separate event in which they participated. Points will

be awarded as follows:

e. There must be a minimum of three (3) schools for each event in order for that event to be

scored. As an example, if only two (2) schools have registered for armed exhibition drill,

that event will be cancelled.

f. If a school has not reported in by 0900 hours, they WILL NOT be allowed to participate

unless there are strong mitigating circumstances. If a school reports in after 0900 hours, they

WILL NOT be given a refund. Fees will have been used to purchase items necessary to

conduct the drill meet and cannot be returned to the merchants.

g. Neither time nor space will be provided for practice.

h. There is no particular order or time in which a team must report and perform after the first

event. Assignments for the first and second events will be made in order to start the meet.

It WILL be the unit’s responsibility to ensure that all entered events are completed before

closing time. The competition will start at 0800 hours and end at approximately 1300hours. At

1230hours, the Knockout Drill will start and hopefully the awards ceremony will start at 1300hrs or

earlier.

i. Refreshments will be available in the concession stand. Changing rooms are limited to the

restrooms available for general use. We will not have a pre-drill inspection so you may

wear your uniforms while traveling. If you intend to stay overnight, please make

arrangements because rooms are extremely scarce on the coast during weekends.

3. The drill commands are located at Encl 2. Please note the area sizes for competition. At Enclosure 1 is the registration form. Please complete the form and designate those events in which you wish to compete. Please make checks or money orders payable to Warrior Battalion JROTC.

4. The cost to compete is $130.00 or $30.00 per event registered.

5. Should you need directions while traveling, please call (228) 861-5925. This is a cell phone and it will be manned during the meet.
