The College of William and Mary Pre-Collegiate Summer Program in Early
American History We are looking for highly-motivated high-school students (rising
juniors and seniors) with a deep commitment to learning about the past; who believe
they have excellent analytical ability; whose writing skills are sound; who thrive in a
competitive, though structured, discussion class format; and who would like a taste of
life in a college dorm. A particular background in American history is not required. An
open mind, independent thinking, creativity, healthy constitution and, above all, a spirit
of adventure are the essential ingredients. If you fit this description, the three weeks of
this program will seem terribly brief, and what you take away with you will be priceless.
