• How do you measure digital business? Listed companies like to maximise proportion shown as digital in order to please shareholders but share of print and electronic from journals can be arbitrary
• Faster growth of e assumes that over time a majority of the business will be digital. Profit margins may fall while revenues grow
• New skill sets: innovation managers (project management skills plus); even video producers now.

Managing innovation
Special skills to manage. Need creativity but tight management of processes to ensure progress and checking at each stage. Acquire skills by hiring people with a good track record of achievement
Organize as separate stream in organization coordinating with traditional staff
(the ambidextrous organization). Account for innovation separately to ensure it matches allocation for this while the traditional business (slower growth) continues to provide funding. Do not leave development of new business too late or the old business will not be able to support developments
