We are indoors more with less humidity which can cause the skin to get even dryer. You can avoid dry skin by being proactive. Several ways to do this is to lower the temperature of the water you use to shower, add a humidifier to the room where you spend the most time, and be sure to moisturize your skin each day. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on a moisturizer. There are good ones that are affordable . Look for a moisturizer that contains natural fats called ceramides. When you moisturize your skin is also important. Use it as soon as possible after showering or washing your hands to lock in the moisture from the water. Pat your skin dry, don’t rub it vigorously with a towel. That way some moisture will be left behind. Using these measures will result in skin that is less dry, will itch less, and be less susceptible to injury.
