Directions for Descriptive Essay 1
Choose a topic from the list provided. Write a descriptive essay of 1‐2 typed pages. Use strong
word choices and powerful descriptions like in the sample essays we read in class. You are to do
your writing in Google.docs and share it with me, and also give me editing privileges. Use Times
Roman Font: 12 point. Double‐space your work. Write your rough draft with your heart by
playing it like a movie in your head. Write down your movie as quickly as possible, not stopping
to edit, but capturing the raw emotion of your piece. Print out your rough draft when done, and
save it. Now change you page heading from rough draft to final copy and use your head to revise
and edit your piece. When you are done with your final copy, attach the rough draft to the back
and submit.
