Fantastic audio; practically soundboard-quality. Lyn makes a superb
Sarah, and the whole cast is excellent. However, this recording is
missing the Overture, sections of "Ewigkeit," most of the rooftop scene
(before Krolock's "He, Ho, He"), and the second half of the finale.
Regardless, this is a superb recording, probably my favorite one of this
musical.

although Yamaguchi's upper range doesn't sound nearly as effortless
as it did in POTO. Also, I'm not sure if I like Ichimura's "heavier" voice
for Abronsius -- I think a lighter tone, like the way he sang in POTO
and "Nightmare Before Christmas", would have fit the character better.

the show as you know it, as this is from an early draft of the first act
of the show where songs and scenes are mostly different although you
can hear, here and there, the bits that would make it through to the
final show and there are many gags thrown into the mix. The
recording concludes with speeches from composer/lyricist Stephen
Schwartz and book writer Winnie Holzman.

pulls out all the stops, which she does, all the time. Everything is
wonderfully captured in this master recording."
