as a child… and sometimes still today!

Skills for Success
 I am respectful to the teacher, other








students and towards myself at all times
I ask for help when I need it;
I participate appropriately in class discussion, even if
I am not 100% sure of the correct answer;
I help others when needed, without disrupting the
rest of the class;
I stay on task without being reminded;
I do not use my cell phone or musical devices without
teacher permission
I ask questions for clarification when needed;
I do my homework and hand assignments in on time;
I am a productive member in pair and group activities;
Skills for Success
 I keep my binder up to date, neat and organized;
 I make sure to ask the teacher and other students
what I have missed when I am absent and get caught
up as soon as I can;
 I use the resources available to me when I need extra
help such as:
 Meeting with the teacher




at lunch or after school
Attending homework club after school
Attending study nights provided by LINK before exams
Asking my parents/guardians for help with homework
Use ClassNet for class handouts, review, notes, calendar
of events

 3 Ring Binder with a section for Geography only
with lined paper
 Pencil Case with:
 Pens, pencils, white eraser, dry whiteout
 Ruler
 Scientific Calculator
 Thin, black, felt tip marker
 Coloured pencils (pack of 24 or more if possible)
 Memory Stick
*Please bring all of these materials to class

 Get Involved! Join a club, try out for a
team, join lunch time activities provided
for your interests
 Avoid conflicts by respecting yourself, others,
Catholic values (be kind, patient, understanding,
compassionate, etc.) and school policies (uniform,

How To Catch Up When Absent:
 Email me to let me know that you will be absent for a
summative due date or test date if possible.
 Check in with a friend from class and ME as soon as
you return to see what you have missed and then get
caught up!
 Check out Class Net from the school/board website
and click on the Assignments/Events Calendar for
topics of the day and homework and on Class
Documents for copies of slideshow notes, diagrams,
Quiz/Test review sheets, assignments, etc.
Class Details…
 - Water in refillable bottles are encouraged! (BUT… no
pop, juice, energy drinks, etc.)
 - Food (only when provided by me or as a special event
potluck, etc, as discussed in class.
 IF you skipped breakfast and really need something
(like your apple, banana, etc. please ask for
permission first).
 - We DO have peanut allergies so no food with nuts
please!
